The past year witnessed bloodshed in Syria and Iraq, turmoil in Egypt, anarchy in Central Africa, threats by a nuclear-armed North Korea and Chinese military posturing, but as 2013 ends a global poll finds that the country seen as representing the greatest threat to peace today is ... the United States.

Not only did the U.S. top the list with an aggregate of 24 percent, but the runner-up threat country, Pakistan, was way behind at eight percent. China was third at six percent, followed by North Korea, Iran and Israel at five percent each.

The survey of opinions across 65 countries by pollster Win/Gallup International recorded some of the strongest anti-American sentiment, predictably, in countries widely regarded as rivals, led by Russia (where 54 percent of respondents said the U.S. was the greatest threat to peace) and China (49 percent).

But the view that the U.S. poses the greatest threat to peace was also strongly held in some purported U.S. allies – such as NATO partners Greece and Turkey (45 percent each), and Pakistan (44 percent), which is also a top recipient of U.S. aid.

Two other countries where strongly negative opinion of the U.S. was found were Bosnia, a candidate for European Union membership (49 percent), and, closer to home, Argentina (46 percent).

Elsewhere in Latin America the U.S. topped the list of threats to peace for a significant number of respondents in Mexico (37 percent), Brazil (26 percent) and Peru (24 percent).

Among Islamic countries polled, the U.S. and Israel generally vied for the top place as world’s greatest threat: Algerian respondents picked U.S. (37 percent) followed by Israel (22 percent); Indonesians named the U.S. (34 percent), followed by Israel (27 percent), as did Malaysians – the U.S. (25 percent), then Israel (22 percent).

For Iraqis the greatest threat came from Israel (24 percent), then the U.S. (21 percent); Lebanese selected Israel by a large margin (41 percent), followed by the U.S. (23 percent), as did Moroccan respondents – Israel (45 percent), then the U.S. (17 percent), and those in Tunisia – Israel (38 percent), followed by the U.S. (27 percent).

So as an Independent American, I apologize to the rest of the world. We did not mean to elect back to back failure administrations. Unfortunately, most American politicians are known for doing so little and being politicized via party lines, it's hard to really get a grasp for a candidate.

Ameicans are so deluded that they imagine that carpet bombing cities only kills the "bad guys". Has any country bombed as many countries as the USA?
America spends trillions to slaughter, torture, maim, poison and kill millions of civilians around the world.
But, they don't want to spend that kind of money actually helping civilians around the world.
No, they prefer enriching the super-rich with never ending wars that always make more problems.
They prefer losing their homes and businesses, paying high taxes, and having the highest percentage of themselves in prison.
They let their best President be assassinated and don't care a bit that every US regime since then has been protecting the perpetrators of his death.
Now their current regime has purchased enough dumdum ammo to blow the head off every American at least 3 times.

I guess that zoning commissar in San Bernardino, California said it right, "It's better you live in your car or under a bridge than live in a house without a permit." And, you gotta have a permit for the car.
So much for "home of the brave and land of the free", more like home of the slave and land of the taxed.

Maybe we ought to dial back, pull our troops home, take our businesses back to the U.S and let the world fend for themselves! Maybe we should protect ONLY the shores of the U.S and let the rest of the world protect themselves. Wonder who would be the first country begging us for help when the other so called non threatening nations begin to threaten them. Hmmm...who would be first to ask our help and who would be first to condemn us for protecting only ourselves/Americans. Any answers?

Personally I could give a rats rump what the other countries think, most of them have their hands in our pockets and/or rely on us to keep their, in some cases cess pool, countries safe. Maybe just MAYBE we should say enough and pull back and take care of our country first and foremost. Close most of our oversea bases and put them on our own borders and stimulate our own economy. NO more foreign aid and NO more selling of our first line armaments to anyone but NATO/SEATO allies. Rest of the great unwashed can go frick themselves.
