    An Air Algerie flight en route to Algiers from Burkina Faso with 116 people aboard -- including 50 French citizens -- disappeared from radar early Thursday over the Sahara during bad weather.

    Air navigation services lost track of AH0517 about 50 minutes after takeoff at 0155 GMT, the Algerian news agency APS reports.

    "In keeping with procedures, Air Algerie has launched its emergency plan," the APS agency quoted the airline as saying.

    The pilot reportedly contacted air traffic control in Niamey, Niger, to change course because of a storm, the BBC reports.

    The French news agency AFP quotes an unidentified source with the airlines as saying the plane was "not far from the Algerian frontier when the crew was asked to make a detour because of poor visibility and to prevent the risk of collision with another aircraft on the Algiers-Bamako route."

    This one looks like it probably has a simpler explanation.
    But I guess we won't know until more info is discovered.

    Hope for the best I guess.....

    Quick! Let's go to DEFCON 1 right now! Get the ICBM's ready and take some iodine pills. Close your banks accounts and buy bags of silver and gold coins! Using all the logic that has been so prevalent over the past week, it's so OBVIOUS that the Russians have done all of these foul deeds! Three plane diasaters in a week? OBVIOUSLY, it's the Russians... right?!

    We must immediately prepare to kill Putin and reduce Moscow to radioactive powder. Then the IMF can take over Russia and build a nice, shiny, new affiliated Central Bank to round out its planetary family.

    It's frightening how much closer we get to the reality of George Orwell's "1984" with the passing of every damned day!

    At least there is some PLAUSIBLE mitigating factor with this one. But the country/continent of the carrier sure makes me nervous.

    Numerology -> Illuminati.

    They also like sevens, as seen with the flight downed in Ukraine.
