We don’t want war. But after 40 years of Iranian aggression, bombing one of their military bases would be proportionate.

Unless Iran is developing a nuclear weapon and the missiles to deliver them we have no business attacking.

and since Iran has not attacked a neighboring country in centuries what business do we have being there in the first place??????

how would we feel if Iran had planes and ships 30 miles from the coast of Florida or New York City????

Iranian sponsored terrorists killed over 200 of our Marines in Beirut. They’ve killed many more than that in Iraq and Afghanistan with roadside bombs.

Did boosting the production of oil and gas help you or any other American? Before he signed that EO, Texas had already reached record highs for oil production. I'll tell you what boosting the production of oil and gas did, it helped his rich cronies do more fracking on private lands, it helped the expansion of oil pipelines that were owned by big US oil companies. His trade policies slowed down oil exports so he needed to boost up his billionaire oil barons' wallets. It caused America's oil and gas use to flatline due to increasing energy efficiency, the growth market is overseas, where the U.S. energy industry had previously made big strides since former President Barack Obama signed an executive order in 2015 ending the 40-year old ban on seaborne crude oil exports from the U.S.

Regulations were put in place for two basic reasons. Safety and ecology. Without regulations we're going to see more oil spills, more coal ash lakes seeping into rivers and wells. Rolling back EPA regulations increase toxic substances and are a danger for both humans and wildlife, not to mention the increase in air pollution and emissions.

The appointment of Brett Kavanaugh should never have happened. The Heritage Foundation, which is a far-right conservative think tank recommends to Trump the SC nominees because they're biased and a SC justice is supposed to be apolitical, which most are, with the exception of Kavanaugh.

Why did the US need to rebuild the military? Are we at war? What does "rebuild the military" mean? Has the budget been gutted? Have the useless weapons programs like the F-35 finally been shut down? No, the United States still spends more on its military than the next 14 countries combined. And the official military budget is only part of the story. The total spending on the U.S. empire is well over $1 trillion per year.

    Where did Trump increase manufacturing?

The surge in manufacturing jobs is fading fast with his trade wars affecting manufacturing and farming the hardest. Employment growth for the sector in February, at 4,000 jobs, was the weakest in more than a year, and data from the payroll processing firm ADP on Wednesday showed the number of factory workers falling in March. Major automobile manufacturers have been cutting jobs; General Motors drew Mr. Trump’s ire last month when it idled a factory in Lordstown, Ohio, and eliminated 14,000 positions.

"the wall" is a pipe-dream that will never happen. He can claim it's 'in progress' but it will be a work in progress forever and never realized.

He didn't withdrawn from NAFTA and Mexico did not just 'sign on to NAFTA'. The new trade deal, the United States-Canada-Mexico Agreement (USCMA) was ratified by Mexico but has yet to be ratified by Canada. The USMCA is essentially NAFTA 2.0, with a few updates. The pact has been tweaked to include changes for automakers, stricter labor and environmental standards, intellectual property protections, and digital trade provisions. It still needs to be ratified by all three governments. The actual process, once ratified, will take six months because the law says there must be six months notice given.

Republicans have had 2 1/2 years to come up with a repeal and replacement of the ACA, and they don't even have a clue as to how to begin to accomplish it. It's not going to happen.

Xi Jinping is the puppet master. Do you understand how much of this country is owned by China? The U.S. debt to China is $1.8 trillion. China's central bank buys excess U.S. dollars from exporters and gives them RMB to keep the dollar rate higher. ... China puts its trillions of dollars in forex reserves in the safest investment it can find—U.S. Treasury securities. This means China is making loans to the U.S. so the U.S. can keep buying China's goods.

China vowed to fight back on Trump's tariffs, and officially did so last month, announcing it would increase its own tariffs on $60 billion of American products. Around 5,000 items will now have duties increased up to 25 percent; those penalties went into effect on June 1.

Trump didn't drain anything except maybe his sinuses. His is the swampiest, most corrupt, crooked administration in this country's history. He has Cabinet seats unfilled or filled by 'acting'. Many of his Secretaries of whatever have left in shame and dishonor for ripping off the American taxpayer's money.

Yes, but Trump likes Putin. He believes the Russian over his intell agencies. Also, Trump is not provoking Russia. Beginning with the destruction of the JCPOA, which permanently barred Iran from making a nuke, Trump has been provoking Iran for a year with severe economic sanctions and ...

On May 5th, Trump ordered a battleship-carrier strike group (CBG), led by the U.S.S. Abraham Lincoln, and a bomber task force, including B-52s, deployed off Iran’s coast.

Five days later, on May 10th, the Pentagon announced a second display of force: the U.S.S. Arlington and a battery of Patriot missile systems would join the Abraham Lincoln. The Arlington carries U.S. Marines and an array of aircraft, landing craft, and weapons systems to support an amphibious assault.

Can you picture Trump doing that off the coast of Russia? Of course not.

    The situation is entirely different.

Trump is the one who wants to talk. Iran is rejecting talks with Trump.

Amid renewed high tensions in the Persian Gulf, Iran's Supreme Leader says he has rejected an offer from President Donald Trump to talk, blasting the U.S. as insincere in its offer and untrustworthy.

That single statement, which you just made, says volumes about who really wants peace and who is provoking who.

There's one thing that nobody in the West can understand -- the single most important thing to any Iranian, or Middle Easterner, is that they are treated with respect. Trump disrespected Iran from day #1. And no, they don't trust him nor have they been given any reason to.

    1. Apparently you do not know what constitutes a treaty in regards to the United States of America's government.

    2. Compared to both the warmongers known as G.W. Bush and Barack Obama, President Trump has been the Peace President. Barack Obama should send the man his Nobel Prize.

    3. We noticed that you very carefully ignored the fact that pretty much all Barack Obama did during eight years was both engage in warfare and screw it up with INSANE rules of engagement that only served to get our service people killed.

    4. Iran is trying like hell to develop nukes. Even Obama admitted that much and added something along the lines of "But that will happen years after I am out of office" -- and leftists cheered.

The pressure on Trump to go to war with Iran is as incredible as it is irrational. The smart money is betting on war now.
This will be real test of Trump's power to resist entrenched powerful elements of the DC establishment. The fact that Trump did not order strikes after the drone was shot down surprises me. Graham, Bolton, Bill Kristol, Bret Stevens et al are bouncing off the walls for war. A preemptive strike by the US would IMO be a huge mistake for Trump.

IOW, you are not able to produce a source to support your attack on Trump.
    That happens - a lot. :)

The thinking Left does not deny the existence of the Deep States and its "sleeper cells" that surfaced to attack Trump.
Everyone knows that the Deep State is very real - that includes you. Why deny the obvious?

I assumed that you read the MSM.

“Many Trump appointees have vowed to do what we can to preserve our democratic institutions while thwarting Mr. Trump’s more misguided impulses until he is out of office,” the official writes."
THE WASHINGTON POST, ‘The sleeper cells have awoken’: Trump and aides shaken by ‘resistance’, By Philip Rucker, Ashley Parker, Josh Dawsey, September 5, 2018 at 8:20 PM.

Trump doesn't want a war, the Ayatollah, however, may need to wag the dog as his population grows increasingly restive.hence why they shot down a drone over international waters.

So, you're equating resistance to this son of a bitch president to 'sleeper cells' and a 'deep state'. That's outrageously ridiculous. Trump gets push back and all you righties cry 'deep state'. He's an illegitimate president that's destroying this country and ruining all the alliances around the world that we've had since WW2. So, I guess you can consider me a 'sleeper cell' and a 'deep state' along with all the other people in the resistance.

His own people, his appointees in the White House basically said they're trying to preserve democracy and keep a check on an out of control president. That's what HIS OWN PEOPLE are saying in the article!

Given the range of surveillance of the drones...there was no need for it to be anywhere near where even WE claim it was.

Are we trying to PROVOKE an incident?

Trump neocon clown have just has not managed to find an opportunity yet .. It is not for lack of desire. So desperate they are they have to manufacture something This rhetoric about going to war over downing a drone is nutterdom. If Iran was flying a drone anywhere near the US it would be shot down like it was duck hunting season.

What is a drone doing flying around the straits of hormuz just off the coast of Iran ... looking for fish ? Only an idiot would think the drone was not engaged in spying.

Yeah - "thats it" Lets take our drone for a joyride in the straits of hormuz - just for fun. Perhaps we can spot some turtles.

Damn - they shot it down - lets start a war.
