Well wishes are always nice, but prayer isn't going to stop a hurricane.

The hurricane is going to happen, humans cannot prevent the weather regardless of how much they want to.

If people want to pray, let them. Means nothing to me. Now if they want to pray for the lost ones during the Huricane, then alrighty then. Just no westboro babist church please.

Your heart's in the right place and that's nice, but you need to get real. Too many people are detached from reality these days and that's why our society is in such a mess.

there's a "plan" floating around out there to disperse a hurricane by nuking it. fortunately, that plan waited/is waiting for a hurricane that is nowhere near land to test it on. :omfg:

No, but as all liberals know, raising taxes would put an end to hurricanes.

When the Lord thy God is Angree...even the good have to suffer.

And he is madder than a hungry woodpecker trapped in a steel mill.

The worst is yet to come.....FACT.

Dixiehunter, you need to look up the meaning of the word fact and the word faith. They both start with "fa" so you got them confused.

You know, if you don't believe in prayer, that's ok. Not everyone does. But why take every occasion to not only belittle those who do, but ridicule religion?

Your poll question is a strange one, esp coming from a former priest.

That gets proposed by people who don't understand physics or the power of hurricanes. A nuclear weapon wouldn't do anything, all that would happen is that there'd be a big explosion and the hurricane would spread fallout over a vast area.

That Hurricane turned out to be a strong storm....It could have been a whole lot worst.

    Amen.

You were a PRIEST? Wow ... you sure took a 180 degree turn - but whatever........

I believe in the power of prayer, but I don't believe God has anything to do w/natural disasters....... it's mother nature at work. I heard people blaming God for Katrina - no, it wasn't. In fact, it wasn't even Katrina that was the real cause of that horrible disaster - it was the broken levies that the state never bothered to fix.....

Some people are always blaming God for something or giving Him credit for something that He had nothing to do with like that lotto winner in WV about 10 yrs ago or so. A reporter commented about his luck and he said it wasn't 'luck' but a 'blessing', b/c God wanted him to have the $ (that he later took to strip joints).....

Then there's those who are to lazy to work, claiming that God will provide for them....... nah, I really don't think so... I'm inclined to believe that God will help those who help themselves.......

One time an unmarried pregnant woman told me that God wanted her to have the baby... she couldn't figure out that she was pregnant b/c he slept w/a guy and God had nothing to do w/it........

Then there's those of a particular faith that doesn't believe in doctors, their child gets seriously ill and dies b/c the parents believe God will heal the child........ and the list goes on and on.......

It's good that people have their faith, but need to be realistic about it.....

If there is one thing I've noticed...

Whenever Liberals do wrong, and know they did wrong. They will be accused of it. .....But.....The liberals will argue, and always ask for the proof.

    "Show me the proof"

The reason why they are asking for the proof....... Simply to be reminded.

Because their too ignorant to have remember the situation or circumstance.

    FACT.
