Is it just me or does this site seem addicting? I'm not saying that in a bad way, it's just that when I first came here I thought it was a place of serious discussion and debate about political topics. It didn't take long to realize it's just an organized version of youtube's questionably sane members, but it's still addicting for some reason. I guess it's because you at least get to argue your points and express yourself, even if it seems like your doing it to rocks, lol.

Well with over 14,000 posts and numerous attempts to "quit," I'm still here. I believe I suffer from a narcissus complex, wherein I enjoy reading my own posts; admiring the sheer eloquence of my digitized thoughts. Yes, I'm just that awesome.

You read your own posts? I don't even read your posts. Well except that one.

The site is addictive I've been lurking round for about five years, it took me a long long time to join, after a while though the arguments seem to get repetitive, very little genuine exchange, alot of ideology and partisanship, still keep coming back.

Agreed. This site is in dire need of new and better trolls to keep us entertained XD

The real shame of it is that some very interesting and thought provoking posters will often drop off the face of the earth while the trolls keep on coming, though I have to admit that they rarely approach the standards set by a certain nameless kiwi.

I found him funny. At least he had a sense of humour. Maybe that's why he was banned?

Yea, he was much hated by many.

Do you recall that other poster from Sligo, baelnablah? I just loved that guy. He had such a wonderful way with words, and such a good English (my main reason for being here is to practice mine:).

Ah now it was a love to hate him relationship. I think.

Yes, I do but not so fondly he represented a kind of Irish nationalism that I wish had been left in the 20th century. And here I thought that you were here to provide a french perspective on things.

How goes the new prez btw? Is he everything that you hoped for (or feared). I must admit I was quiet surprised he decided to go ahead with the 75% tax rate, I honestly thought it was a pre election sop to the base.

    Perhaps, he was trolling, too.
I'm not really here to provide any perspective, myself. If I do, then good; but that is not why I am here, as I have already said.
Pretty happy with President Hollande, so far. He is very different from Sarkozy, in the way that he tends to leave us in peace. Toodle.

I am announcing my resignation. I have other things in my life that need attention right now. This will be my last post... I think... unless I have become addicted.

Paris. English is widely spoken as a first language in Sligo you know! Yours is excellent by the way. When you speak do you have an appallingly strong French accent?

I can take it or leave it alone myself. On the one hand, American right-wingers are so entirely weird that it is fun to pull one of their eight legs sometimes, but on the other hand, the mods are inclined to the irrationally bossy, which I can often do without for quite a long time.

Perhaps if you stuck to the rules the mods may not prove to be bossy at all.
