    Ha! I like the name.

I'm not sure I have any RB's good enough to justify trading for a wide receiver any better than the ones I have.

Then again, I see you have Deandre Hopkins...

I actually just picked up Spencer Ware off the free agency! I also have Jamaal Charles so whenever he's healthy I have the tandem. Can't believe no one picked Ware up

This league only has 8 people in it, so there are a lot of good players to go around. No one is going to go without a solid QB, which I wish I had taken into account more--now I have two elite QB's. I should have done things a little differently, but I'd totally forgotten how small our league is.

Yea good point. I keep forgetting it's only 8. Great point. For an 8 team league, my team could do much better LOL! Then again, I was on autodraft since I was in the air.

Yeah, the only thing I'm stressing is running back play, as always. Somehow, I managed to get two elite QB's, a solid wide receiving core, good running back depth, two elite tight ends, and an elite kicker!

    I miss so many drafts...

I've had to pay attention to the waiver wire quite a bit more than I'd like to, but I always feel good when I manage to win games with teams that are primarily waiver wire grabs.

Hey, NC. I have absolutely no idea of what in hell I am doing.

I read here a comment from one poster who mentioned that winning any games here would be 20% skill and 80% luck.

I have no skill at the game whatsoever (I am trying to learn)...so it was 100% luck.

Thursday night did make my week!

Any time a single player scores three TDs and rushes or receives for over 100 yards, you're doing good. It does come down to luck though....in one of my other leagues, I had Brandon Cooks score 27 pts (vs a projected 10) and almost single handily beat my opponent. This week in that same league I had Kelvin Benjamin score 21 (vs a projected 9).

Usually you're going to have one or two players go crazy, and one or two players have mediocre games in the same week. You just have to know who might go crazy, and who might not show up, which is not easy.....

Do the rosters eventually get locked down…so no more players can be replaced from the waiver wire? Or do the changes when you want them continue throughout the season?

What do you do when the bye week comes? (I've got two players from the Giants...and the Giants defense) Do you replace the players who are going to miss the game…or are you stuck with a zero for their production?

Big FRANK kicking ass this week lol, good job.

Anyways the only players you can not ever drop are the first 2 draft picks I believe, unless they get put on injured reserve. But other than that on teusday the players wont be locked anymore and you can attempt to change them out on the waiver wire.

Players only get locked when their games start so it makes sure you dont change your lineup for that week.

Nothing like dumb luck in these kinds of things. Nancy and I went through an entire season in a football pool (using point spreads) with almost ALL of our decisions being made by Mr. Coin...a Sacagawea dollar. We wanted to find out how it would do compared with the "experts." We won the pool...against over 20 other participants.

My plans here...since I know very little (learning a lot, did several picks from the wire) is to have as much fun as possible with a strategy of: I love the GIANTS...and sorta like the JETS...so I'm gonna load up on them and hope they both have great years.

My problem, which I just noticed, is that during a bye week...I could be in some deep oompah.

Gonna be thinking that out...and trying to deal with it during the next few weeks.

Ahhh STATEGERY...if only I had it!

Eh well that is not so much a great stretegy to be honest. The last thing you want to do is load up on guys from the same team. First off like you said the bye weeks will wreak havok, secondly you are only depending on 2 teams and that is really not going to be in your favor in the long run. Sure some weeks you might get lucky and the whole lot blows up, but it's really a long shot.

trying to get the better players from each squad is going to be much more consistent and less of a headache.

To win at any fantasy sport you cant be biased to a certain team, getting the best available to what you need is what's more important.

Plus another thing you need to look at is the defensive match ups for your players.

I understand all that...but until I get my footing, I am going to favor the two teams I like best.

Anyway...you seem to have answered my question about the bye week situation. Apparently I have got to have someone on hand to take the place of the players during the bye.

Okay...I have considered that problem...and have some of it solved. Gonna keep working on it.

Nancy and I are tied with 5 others in first place in our regular pool also this week. I allowed her to talk me into Tampa Bay (a truly dumb move; she does not read what I write here)...or we would be in sole possession of first.

Won't know 'til tonight what the 5 contenders have for tonight...or their choice of the tie breaker total score. We've got the Eagles (really tough for me to be rooting for them!)...and 44 points as a tie breaker.

I dont consider myself some great guru, but I know my stuff when it comes to fantasy football so I am going to tell you 2 things...

    1) do not stick with that plan of keying on 2 teams to be successful, there are many many many other options in this league. Waiver wire is plentiful. And if not there is always trading available as well.

    2) im sure all of us will be glad to help you consider players, just ask man. I think all of us just consider this league more fun than competitive anyways so nobody has anything to lose but some bragging rights. It's all fun, so we will be glad to help you learn. Im not gonna hide any secrets, ask and ill tell.

MMMMM Eagles and Bears is a tough call, neither team is really any good lol.

Yeah...but for a die-hard GIANTS fan...rooting for the Eagles tonight is going to be shear hell.

Thanks for the advice. I'll be doing all sorts of juking during the next week...to see if I can still remain true to my GIANTS (to to a much lesser degree, JETS) but still have enough diversity to not paint myself into a corner.

    More to come.

    Frank went insane.

I can't believe he is still so good!

    Frank Gore...

I got beat this week by a good 15 points, thanks to Golden Tate and Mark Ingram (*)(*)(*)(*)ting the bed. My other players performed as well as I expect on a weekly basis.

Last year was the first year I played fantasy and I felt the same way. The biggest things I learned were as follows: try not to have more than two regular starters that share the same bye week; and definitely don't put all your eggs in one basket. You don't want to have many starters with the same bye weeks because usually your bench players aren't going to score as many points, and you probably don't want to load up with players from one or two teams because a handful of injuries could wreck the entire season for each team, which in turn would effect your fantasy team (although the potential payoff could be huge).

We were talking about Frank Apisa's team , he put up second highest in the league this weak and he was on autodraft lol.

But yeah Gore still looks impressive given the miles he has on him. AP took a crap on me but thats all good since the rest of my team did well except for D.Allen . Really not worried about losing AP for a bit though, Still have Latavius Murray, Gio Bernard and Shady McCoy to rotate with.

Sad I only get Deangillo for one more week, dude has been beasting it up. Gonna hold on to him though since Bell is kind of injury prone. But even without D-Will or AP my backs are solid. I do need a TE though, anyone up for a trade for whoever has Jordan Reed ?

I thought I had a good backfield, but I'm starting to wonder.

Yeah, it sounds like you are doing really well with your backs.

You have a good backfield, Elliot is the clear cut #1 back only losing touches every now and again. And I wouldn't stress on Ingram, that whole game was garbage as everyone was expecting a shootout and it didn't happen. Ingram will bounce back. As for Stewart, he is ALWAYS a second half of the season guy. Derrick Henry will be #1 in the backfield for the titans eventually, , i'd say around week 10.

Hey don't feel sad, at least your starting QB in your big money league wasn't Russell Wilson and your starting RB Thomas Rawls :wall:
