I've been following politics since age 10 and have paid more attention than usual to this year's campaign. I listened or watched parts of most of the debates. However, when the Iowa results came in my first reaction was: which one is Rick Santorum?

On the radio his voice was indistinct, so I wasn't sure who was speaking when it was his turn. I can't recall him ever being asked a direct question, only replying to other people's, so I can't quote anything he said during the early debates.

Even when he finally got the center right position on the podium he still had to compete with Gingrich's efforts to steal the show and Ron Paul's occasional brilliant insertions.

Since Santorum is the only remaining candidate with a mathematical chance to overtake Romney during the primaries I think they need to meet one more time with no other candidates present.

Instead of a brief introduction, they should start with a lengthy list of reasons why they should be the next president and what they plan to do. After that they should ask each other questions with the moderator keeping the debate civil and occasionally reminding them of the time.
I live in a state neither is likely to visit that has yet to vote. No doubt many interested people whose states vote late are only now becoming interested in the campaign. These two men represent very different ideas of how this country should be managed and the public has a right to hear these ideas clearly and without distraction.
    Does anyone agree?

You sort of answered your own question ..After 20 debates the 2 men are totally opposite in approach.

When Santorum focused on the economy he got less than 5 % of any poll or vote.

After seeing this he switched to religion as the anti Mormon vote.
That is the entire political season simplified.

Those supporting Santorum do so because they DISLIKE Romney..on religion.

Any reasonable person could blow holes in the Santorum argument Romney switched on abortion..mandates and other subjects.

So has Santorum and many other politicians with over 20 years in the political world.

On Fiscal matters there is no contest..Santorum FLUNKED and was voted out on corruption and voting for earmarks and debt. This is not opinion but historical fact.

Only a religious backing could propel him anywhere near the White House.

Evangelicals are pissed that any Mormon could actually win..and that is another well know fact. Why did we have 8 other wanna bees ?
All the previous debates awaiting for a gotcha moment that never came.

That's why they make up the etch a sketch moment and FIRE people when Santorum has had many more stupid moments during this campaign.

Our economy is failing...not our church..we are voting for a new president to turn it around..not a Pastor to preach to us.

The whole Santorum persona is fake...from his sweater vest to his pick up truck in IOWA..a guy who owns 6 properties and drives an Audi couldn't or wouldn't hire the proper staff to get him on the ballots he needed to be on.

THE WORSE Republican IN America has over 1 million more votes and twice the delegates.
It would seem reality escapes Rick Santorum.

Now he wants to be VP ?

    Go figure.

I would like to see those to go in a one on one debate. It would be intreseting to see Mittens go against his biggest threat right now.

A one on one with Romney isn't really necessary. We've seen enough debates at this point to know that Santorum will either lose abjectly or barely manage to hold his own.

It did be boring and useless. Anyone who think's anyone but Romney is going to be the nominee is kidding themselves. However, seeing what a flip flopper Romney is, its understandable why people want to vote for anyone but Romney.

Not me. I'm debated-out. I'll wait to see who takes on Obama and hope the teleprompter fails.
