Your refund is lower this year for the same filing as last year, which translates into a higher cost to you since your deductions have been reduced.
Your president lies about everything, whether it is minor or major. An example is Trump's statement that the wealthy would put mucho
dollars back into the economy due to the huge tax reduction. Didn't happen and it was predicted that it would not happen.
You need to stop covering for this guy who is sucking our country for every dollar he can make.

My deductions haven't been reduced...the standard deduction was doubled. My tax libility is much lower...so overall I paid less in taxes then I would last year....with the same wage. This isn't rocket science folks.

The economy did grow...at the fastest pass in nearly four years last year...https://www.theguardian.com/busines...rowth-trade-us-gdp-donald-trump-business-live

"But what the Tax Act gives middle-income families with one hand, it takes away with the other. The new law repeals personal and dependent exemptions, increasing taxable income for a family of four by $16,600 in 2018. Many itemized deductions are pared back substantially: the deduction for state and local taxes (SALT) is capped at $10,000; the mortgage interest deduction is capped; and deductions for casualty and theft losses, employee business expenses, and union dues are eliminated outright. Deductions for moving expenses, tuition and fees, and alimony payments are also repealed.

So even in the short run, the tax swap offered to middle-income families—bigger standard deductions in exchange for lost exemptions and itemized deductions—makes the president’s middle-class-tax-cut claims an empty promise. Some families stressed by high housing costs in higher-tax, blue states like California and New York will likely see a federal income tax increase as soon as this tax year, thanks to the tax bill’s sharp reduction in the itemized deduction for state and local taxes."

Middle class families aren't pay $10K in state and local taxes, the morgage interest deduction was capped at $1 million dollars on the first and second homes....anyone paying more then that is high class. So, the rich did not get a cut. It certainly did simplify the tax code by taking away many loopholes, which was the point...hence why the standard deduction was doubled.

Yes, many rich folks in high tax states like CA and NY will be and are effected. Take that up with your high tax legislators

No, it wasn't the point. you were to get a reduction and you didn't. You need to read between the lines with Trump and his nonsense.
