Has the quality of mainstream cinema in general gone downhill in the last 2 decades? Is anyone else sick of comic book movies from over saturation? Too much gloss in movies not enough substance? Too much CGI? Is it a coincidence that Kathleen Kennedy was involved in Indy 4 and the Last Jedi?
Nope. Twenty years isn’t as long as you might think it is anyway. Well no, for the same reason I’m not fat despite there still being more food available. It doesn’t matter how many comic book movies are made, I’m only ever going to watch as many as I want to. In some cases certainly but in general that isn’t a new issue. Anyway, sometimes something meaningless and glossy is what you want to see. Again, maybe in some cases (though it isn’t really a raw volume issue as much as how and where it’s used). It isn’t generally an issue though and I doubt you spot 90% of the CGI used in modern mainstream films anyway. I don’t know and don’t care. Does it matter?
