How many places are defunding police? That is ZERO support for ANY cop.

How many people are calling to abolish police in certain areas? Again, zero support for police.

Yes, liberals clearly want more crime. From not enforcing border security, to calling criticism of MS-13 "racist", to letting violent foreigners loose on our streets, to not enforcing any penalties for looting a Target, to charging cops with murder for trying to arrest someone...

Chauvin was a senior officer, previously protected by that cosy blue wall of silence. Bringing it back to NYPD: the thug that lynched Eric Garner is also a sweet gem. He previously made black people strip naked. The person that filmed the incident, was later arrested and got poisoned by cops with rat poisoning in jail.

Politicians made it illegal for cops to use a chokehold, just last year. So the public, specifically black people, are more safe vs the thugs with badges.
How painful is it, that this was needed to be done to protect the public from police brutality?

 

It's right in the OP why they are leaving.
That "anti-cop hostility" the OP speaks of is just an euphemism of the entire BLM thing = racial injustice. Add to that: social injustice, and general police brutality.

If I were a police officer, I'd be 'counting the days', and retire as soon as possible.

I'm already hearing that as law enforcement goes down the drain in this country, more and more private businesses are willing to invest in their own corporate security and "police forces". Very possibly, this presents excellent opportunity for retired police officers!

Maybe I read too much science fiction in my youth, but science fiction authors predicted much of today's emergent lawless chaos, and so far, they're pretty much right on target....

Who are you kidding ? Coming out of a period of low employment, with healthcare as expensive as it is, and with cops killing minorities in custody, the police academy will have to run double classes to keep up with all the recruits.
