Because putting Ron Paul and Darth Cheney in the same party is a bit misleading...

I would consider myself a bad Republican. I have disagreements with the Party. Years ago I was a Democrat and have several disagreements with them. Now I'm much more Right than Left. But I do have some Left leaning views, so I can't say I'm a good Republican and I wouldn't make a good Democrat either.

No such thing as a good R just as there is no such thing as a good D. When on the national scale, they are all tied to big money and party is 2nd.

People, as in, We The People, are nowhere in the mix.

I'd rather we be a good American than a good Republican or Democrat.

Libertarian so I guess that makes me a mediocre Republican.

This is an irreparable state of affairs inherent to the state having a monopoly over the legitimate use of force. They collude with others to get what they want. Even if they pass a constitutional amendment prohibiting financing of candidates, without going full police state there's no way to stop people from airing independent ads. The best they can do is change the collusion from direct to indirect.
