If you read Academic works you would know how scholars reach theories and how theories get accepted in the world, there is no faith involved at all, there is nothing in the history of man kind to suggest the Hebrews all disappeared and replaced by aliens/others. the Academy has no reason to suspect the development of the Hebrew/Judean ppl was any different than other nations. that is if it walks like a duck and talks like a duck - it's a duck. converts work the same way it did during the Kingdom, ppl added ppl left, no reason to suspect aliens assumed their identities while the world slept.
