Even the concept of "eternity", in the astronomical sense is hard to contemplate. Mind bendingly fascinating subject.

I couldn't even begin to understand the idea of eternity seeing as everything we know has finite (as we understand it) existence.
Current accepted cosmological theory suggests (as I understand it), that a cycle of infinity exists in the universe, and that the universe came into being from an infinite number of universes, and will eventually become an infinity of darkness as it continues to expand beyond the limits of light from stars being able to reach...
I think I'll stop right there. My poor brain isn't capable! Are there any cosmologists out there who can help me out?

Diamonds are easy to form at cosmological scales. It is believed that giant diamonds float inside the atmosphere of Neptune, where immense pressures push together carbon molecules within the atmosphere forming diamonds.

As far as I understand it, what you have outlined is the latest cosmological theory which displaces the notion of the big bang...As an athiest/agnostic, it's a notion that I have some sympathy with because it negates the notion of a "beginning".

You'd need a pretty odd atmosphere for diamonds to float in it, certainly not on Neptune where any formed would be hailing down.

As an agnostic, I`m happy to admit that I don`t know.

Would they go stale? Or would they be nice & fresh / vacuum sealed, sort of?

Good point; as space is a vacuum would they stay fresh for eternity? Hmm...

It is not known whether a teapot orbits the earth either.

I am glad you said Neptune and not one of the other outer planets - after all the LAST thing anyone wants is a bling ring around Uranus
