    Video
At least 35 people have been detained after demonstrators allegedly set fire to the construction site of an Atlanta public safetytraining facility anti-police and environment activists dubbed "Cop City."

A group of "agitators" left the nearby South River Music Festival around 5:30 p.m. and descended on the construction site of the proposed Atlanta Public Safety Training Center "to conduct a coordinated attack on construction equipment and police officers," the Atlanta Police Department said in a statement.

Authorities noted how the group changed into black clothing and allegedly began to throw commercial-grade fireworks, Molotov cocktails, large rocks and bricks at police officers.

Though demonstrations at the 85-acre property in DeKalb County secured for a $90 million police and fire training facility have been ongoing, Atlanta Chief of Police Darin Schierbaum said Sunday’s incident marked a "significant escalation" both in the level of violence and the number of individuals involved in the attack….

Now this is how to deal with anarchy. These international Antifa like terrorists need to be punished severely to the max allowed. They need to be made an example of legally speaking.

Fortunately the state executive and legislative branches are red so they will actually be punished there.

If someone broke the law, they should be punished.

Since they crossed state lines, shouldn’t the FBI take over? But then again, if Garland has a say then these people would be released with no charges.

There in a red state they will be. That (them being punished) rarely happened in 2020 though

Some of them crossed international borders so yes they should. Biden will likely honor them.

I suspect that Garland is probably pretty angry given the local folks discovered how many of these folks weren't from GA so quickly. And he will not lift a finger to support the local PDs there, because, this is exactly the kind of violence he seems to favor.

    Just curious:

Can you think of ANY reason why people might not like the way that Atlanta police are trained?

Do you think everyone loves the way police were trained to shoot Manuel Terán 13 times?

Do you think the murder of Tyre and others were no more than local mistakes? How many of these have to happen?

Do you think people in Atlanta should trust a department that hired and trained Officer Robert Malone?

How many of these do you need?

I don't believe that the attack is at all legit.

BUT, the FACT is that Atlanta has spent YEARS building the relationship between their police force and the community they police.

That is NOT a justification for the act, but the act DOES indicate a severe level of failure.

Just curious, can you think of any justification for the attack on government by these lefty domestic/international terrorists?

Nope. I think I made that point.

The issue I raised is that an organization that engenders that degree of hate when their charter is to "protect and to serve" is clearly having a big and internal problem.

And, I strongly suspect they earned that hate.

Just our of curiosity, after shooting Manuel Terán 3 times, do you really think he needed to be shot 10 more times??? Or, were the police just taking out their hatred?

Now this is the way to deal with this stuff. These people won’t be messing with red states anymore…

…Many of those already accused of violence in connection with the training site protests are being charged with domestic terrorism, a felony that carries up to 35 years in prison. Those charges have prompted criticism from some that the state is being heavy-handed.

Lawmakers are considering classifying domestic terrorism as a serious violent felony. That means anyone convicted must serve their entire sentence, can’t be sentenced to probation as a first offender and can’t be paroled unless they have served at least 30 years in prison…

Put em in solitary confinement and hold them for years on trespassing charges.

Whatever “degree of hate” they may have gives them zero rights to dictate to police forces who, how, where, and when to train.
They get to vote and go to public meetings. That’s is about all the rights they are issued.

Some people simply see cops as “spoiling the fun”

Police suppression has never stopped people from fighting for equality, representation, human rights, etc.

Let's remember that the police serve the people.

Right - the tyranny of the majority.

The argument sounds great even when the objective is to enforce discrimination.

However, there are limits to what humans will tolerate.

The Jury pool in Atlanta is D+36, so, these terrorists will likely fair pretty well. That is one of the errors that the J6 folks made, they protested in an area that D+95.

Do you think that will improve the relationship between the police and the population?

Nobody is suggesting that these attacks were justified or legitimate.

This is just more of your nonsense view of our legal system and its adherents.
