BAN AFFIRMATIVE ACTION - Right Now.

What I realize is that racism and discrimination will pour in no matter what. Affrimative Action is in place specifically to counter racism and prejudice against African Americans.

This is like blaming the police men for impeding the rights of the husband by arresting him...for beating his wife. The law intercedes upon total freedom in order to protect the freedom and wellbeing of others.

 

With all the credentials you were talking about you having, and being the more qualified for a job, etc., etc., seems odd you don't know how to read a sentence.....

Maybe it's not AA that's the problem......

Even white people like myself who spend very little time in the company of black Americans have enough life experience to realize that "lingering racism" exists. I notice that DRJ didn't address my suggestion that a more comprehensive approach to this problem (of which AA is only a part) was the best way to handle this issue..

Pardon me if I'm not impressed by people who want the smaller part that annoys them eliminated, but don't give a fig about the other parts of the problem that don't affect them. Pretending even rhetorically that the problem may not exist is hardly looking for solutions.

 

What I find amazing about Protectionist's rants about AA is that he can never give us any hard numbers or examples of how AA is discriminating against white people in America.

So you can't accept the reality of affirmative action discrimination ? Or is it that you don't want to ? And if so, why not ? The US Supreme Court accepted it in the Ricci vs. DeStefano case (et al). In the Grutter vs. Bollinger case. In the Bakke case. In the Fisher vs. Texas case, et al. You think you know better than them ?

Just look through my posts in this thread, They are there >> the Bakke case, the White firefighters in New Haven, CT, the Fisher case in Texas, Grutter vs Bollinger, etc, etc. And YOU KNOW all that. PS - I know of no discrimination going on in America against Black people. In fact, I would have to guess that IT DOESN'T EXIST. How could it, when we have affirmative action going on all over the place ?.... with all the discrimination benefits going to Blacks, and Whites being the victims. It's obvious. We see Blacks well employed, all over, including in management jobs, driving nice, new, shiny cars, and then we're supposed to believe that Blacks are somehow oppressed ? Yeah, right!! AA often discriminates against White women too. If the discriminators want Blacks, that's all they hire. You can go to various govt offices and see dozens of people working there > ALL Blacks. No Whites, no Asians, no Hispanics.
AND, let's not forget that millions of White women who are the wives and daughters (dependents) of White men, are also being discriminated against, every time a job or promotion, or financial aid, or whatever, is denied to their White male relative.

By the way, where are your statistics, or any evidence that you haven't pulled out of your arse, for the "hundreds of millions" of white Americans who are "victims" of AA? You don't think I'm going to let you get away with 'everyone knows', do you? Lots of black people are employed in government offices and you use this as some kind of spurious supporting evidence that AA is discriminating against whites? I could say the same if I saw an office full of white people. But that would be equally stupid, wouldn't it?

 

And what I realize is that you are seeing this whole thing 100% SUBJECTIVELY, in terms of HOW YOU WANT TO SEE IT.

1. Regardless is what AA is intended to do, what it DOES DO is just the opposite of its intention. NO, it does NOT counter racism, it creates more racism. All it does is change the identities of the victims and beneficiaries of the racist discrimination. This isn't rocket science, YOU KNOW I'm right.

In your example, the husband has engaged in wrongdoing, and so is being penalized. But White people in 2013 (and ever since AA began in the 60s) have NOT engaged in wrongdoing, and you and all your racist, hypocrite AA pushers have no right to penalize them. To do so, is the act a group of soulless scoundrels, who if they had an ounce of decency, wouldn't even think of engaging in this treachery, which is just how they define it, when it happens to THEM.

 

Thats double speak how can you benefit the most from a program, but it discriminates against you also.

Hmmm, can you give us an example of where someone has posted a job that says, "Black applicants only".

Yep and you can go to Gov't offices and see all whites working there.

Really, if that is the case then why are white men the most employed folks in America.

How's this,

There appears to be a meltdown occurring due to the fact that affirmative action is still active and helping minorities as well as white women succeed in society.

This meltdown has affected a certain diminishing subset of society in such a way that the focus is on black people rather than the policy as a whole, which helps people get into a successful position where personal bias of the hiring official would have been a deterrent.

I consider PF a microcosm of the real world, and based on that premise, due to some of the posts here, I can understand why AA was implemented and why it still is needed.
