S&P should've been investigated after the subprime crisis reared its ugly head and it was found that the ratings agencies, including S&P, were giving out high ratings for bundled trash. It doesn't strike you as odd that S&P, a firm headed by a Romney supporter, is the only firm to degrade the US's credit rating? Then there's this: "The investigation began before Standard & Poors cut the United States AAA credit rating this month, but it is likely to add fuel to the political firestorm that has surrounded that action. Lawmakers and some administration officials have since questioned the agencys secretive process, its credibility and the competence of its analysts, claiming to have found an error in its debt calculations."
