"The events of today increase both worries about the intelligence position of Belgian authorities as well as how many supporters there are.

"They're not that amateuristic either. These support groups are a big worry and in some countries they run in the hundreds if not the thousands and that's too many for the authorities to monitor."

More concerning still, it was not just Belgian authorities but French agencies who were involved in hunting Abdeslam and trying to break up the extensive networks of which he was part.


"You hope the Muslim communities will be their eyes and ears but apparently that didn't happen so there are a lot of worries," Professor Bakker said.

Belgian Interior Minister Jan Jambon admitted after the Paris attacks that "we don't have a grip on the situation in Molenbeek".


He said a 55-page report released last week on the Paris attacks showed French authorities had been "surprised at how extensive this network was, and that it was more professional than they expected".

Tuesday's attack "suggests there is still a fair part of this network in Brussels", he said.

"This is a scale of threat that has gone beyond both Belgian and French authorities," he said.

Relax, guys. Look, I'm sure that the Belgians are formulating a plan, as we speak, to attempt to discredit the terrorist's #1 training manual - the Qur'an. So just take a chill pill. They make pretty damn good waffles, so I'm sure they are talented enough to discredit a belief system that has a pedophile as it's #1 hero, I mean how hard could that be? Although the fact that Obama/Hillary/Bernie haven't even broached that idea, ever, does give me some pause for concern....

I THOUGHT we got rid of religious wars centuries ago, but I guess until we eliminate religion we'll continue to have these holy wars against un-believers. Too bad Jesus isn't actually real or he would come down and educate us (I just said educate us) about what the one true correct belief system really is, and much of the religious wars (including the palestinian/Jew debacle) would be largely cleared up. The only way to fix this muslim BS, is to shut down their borders, and go house to house and kick those fu^&ers out!!!! Then, maybe the rest of Europe will follow. A day without a muslim would bring peace throughout the world. EVERY SINGLE DAY, somewhere throughout the world, ANOTHER muslim kills people one way or the other. The only way to put a final end to this, is a full scale occupation of the Middle east with American troops.
Because we can not trust troops from any other part of the world to do the job necessary to win.
Local troops and foreign troops can help, but we must lead.

Until we see this as an actual fight for our very future and way of life,
and respond to it in the appropriate manor. These sorts of attacks will continue to happen.

We need a military force or over 10 million people to accomplish this.
Because we have let the "locals" try and resolve this for the past 10+ years
and it only seems to be getting worse.

But the most important thing is to make it fully known we are not trying to make them the same as us. Just making it so they can live without fear of being killed on a daily basis.
Doing that would also resolve the "refugee" crisis.

There is nothing surprising in the fact that Belgium is not able to resist evil. Just look at the main police commissioner in Brussels. He is a transvestite. And concerned over gay parades than the inhabitants safety Belgium.

I heard on BBC news last night that there's an area in Brussels which has at least a 75 Muslim population, and that's how Abdesalem found it so easy to vanish after masterminding the French attacks. No, only some: but then how could any of us know who are and who aren't? And in the context, who but a Muslim would be placing explosive devices in public places?

 

This is true for all civilization though: The switch between evil and good, isn't that far apart though. How can we encourage the Muslim World to turn away from evil, but instead to do good? Like everyone else said: A religious reformation is necessary, but does there exist anyone in the Muslim World with the kind of credibility and trust to start such a movement?

Until Muslims are largely swayed towards peace instead of war, coexistence instead of hate then the 'struggle' will unfortunately continue.

I know the broken record of who reminds that some of the Jihadists were born in Western countries and they were citizens of EU countries ... but their parents didn't appear out of the blue under the Tour Eiffel ... they migrated here from their countries of origin.

Immigration is a sensitive matter to manage, rule and govern. Our economies need migrants to do those "poor jobs" which are no more so desired by "native" citizens.

But, it would be advisable to apply filters to immigration, to make an accurate and rational selection on the base of compatibility.

Italy, for example, has recorded a wide immigration of Orthodox individuals and families from Eastern Europe and they have perfectly integrated here. While Arab immigrants can [not always, of course] generate troubles.

So that, in my opinion, we should impose close numbers and a deep selection to the immigration coming from some areas of the world.

Otherwise, if you allow a Muslim community to migrate to your country, may be among them there are extremists ... and the sons of extremists could become terrorists [could].

So, there are no doubts: we have to filter immigration.
