Are rural Americans really 'bad people'? Have they really done anything to this instructor? Is it completely necessary to be 'pro city'?

One ignorant individual who has probably never left cities and actually explored rural areas and the people that inhabit them.

YOU neglected to mention that he deleted his tweet after he realized it was a bad one and he issued an apology!!And that was contained within the same anti liberal post you cherry picked from.

They elected trump. They cheer for thuggery and abuse of power. No more information is needed.

When I drive across the country I notice that in many areas, rural areas, the only radio stations are talk radio. And they aren't exactly balanced in their discussions. Not everyplace has television coverage so dish service is used, where they can view FOX rather than local news. And you know they don't read newspapers. They don't see the news we see.

    "They"

Lol. You're as ridiculous as the reference professor in the OP.

As I always say. The arrogantly think they are superior to the rural folks. We'll see who needs each other more. (Hint: rural folk don't need city folk)

Yes, I was once shunned and all but run off a job site in Alabama, when I casually mentioned that I don't watch Fox. And that was almost 20 years ago. And I remember the likes of Limbaugh going back even farther. We have seen decades of brainwashing.

But that doesn't excuse cheering for extreme torture or the mass murder of tens of thousands of innocent people. Those were two of the most shocking moments of my life - to see "Americans" cheering for horrors from the darkest times in human history.

We have fought wars to defeat people like this.

Were you going to actually say something illegible?

Defend cheering for extreme torture. How do you defend that?

How do you defend calling for the mass murder of tens of thousands of innocent people?

City folk designed and built your computer and telephone. Even your tractor was built by people, in town. You sound so silly saying rural folk don't need city folk. I grew up on a farm. Yet we still had to go to town to buy groceries and personal items. It was always a big thrill, as a kid, to go the big city, and see the zoo and museums and all kinds of things that you never see on farms, or even little towns. I think that a purely rural lifestyle, would be a culturally poor lifestyle.

And don't give me the bogus "Democrats want to kill babies" bs.

Supporting the right of choice over a tremendously complicated issue is not calling for babies to be killed. Equating one with the other is fallacious at best. I am pro choice but anti abortion, as are many people.

And no matter how much you oppose abortion, that doesn't justify electing someone like trump. There were a dozen other Republicans to choose from. And Republicans chose the most repulsive and obvious thug to hit Presidential politics in my lifetime. There is NO excuse for that.

Something tells me their opinion hasn't changed, just their willingness to voice it.

They're entitled to that opinion, of course, and the right to voice it (nb4 armies of strawmen), but the fact that they voiced this opinion and the likelihood that they only deleted it because their sentiment isn't popular enough (yet), is OPworthy.

Another tally for my position that this Union is in need of a divorce.

I don't eat corn or wheat products. And corn ethanol is just welfare for farmers. Won't miss the bread basket at all! :D

California alone ranks from 3rd or 4th, to 1st, in most agricultural products as well as dairy and meat.

I didn't say town, I said city. You are changing that to suit your argument.

Oh... and research where John Deere is based.

Great. But you didn't have to go to the city where all the arrogant superior intellectuals apparently live.

Plus, your missing the point. When push comes to shove and **** hits the fan... country folk will be nearly unaffected and perfectly capable of adapting. The city? Riots, theft, complete breakdown of society.

I've lived on a farm as I grew up. I resided I Chicago (in the city) for 10 years, now live in the suburbs.i think you're right. Culturally, not being exposed to the resources in the city would be terrible.

What I am talking about is during an acropoliptic or massive scale war.. I want to be in the country side.

Where do you think beef, poultry, eggs, pork, fish, milk, cheese, fruit etc. Come from? Hint... not the city and certainly not LA or San Francisco.

Blue States drive the economy. California alone is the 5th largest economy in the world.

Even San Francisco qualifies as a small country by GDP.

Why should the discussions be "balanced"? I think you need to think a bit deeper. We have internet everywhere, so why don't rural people care to hear from democrats?

I could tell you, but I doubt you'll believe me. We don't want to hear from you because you're full of ****. That's why democrats get no traction in flyover country.

We can hear morons all day long on the internet, so why is it that we don't care to hear from morons? Could it possibly be because morons just aren't necessary? It's like listening to some idiot, and nobody wants to listen to an idiot.

For example, your idea seems to be that there aren't any lefty talk radio stations in flyover country. Well, yeah, I agree.

Hey, how about that mueller report? Oh.... yeah, that report that lefties hinged their credibility on, and turned into a nothingburger?

What hasn't turned into a nothingburger for lefties?

We laugh at lefties, not because we don't have lefty stations, but because they are stupid.

Back when Bush was president, when Bush was saying things that were clearly not true, I noticed that there were those who really didn't care if he was lying or not. They were thrilled at the prospect of killing Arabic looking people. Facts didn't matter.

I am familiar with the Ditto Head bullying. There have been times that I've seen a large conservative, with his crew by his side, talking down to others in a threatening manner. All the while saying the most ignorant things possible. And I'd be sitting there thinking, how can this guy call others stupid, when obviously he is so out there.

In 2015, the leading cow states are:

    1. Texas with 11.8 million
    2. Nebraska with 6.3 million
    3. Kansas with 6 million
    4. California with 5.2 million, or about 9% of the US total.
    https://sites.uci.edu/energyobserver/2015/04/21/beef-in-california-agriculture/

California's agricultural abundance includes more than 400 commodities. Over a third of the country's vegetables and two-thirds of the country's fruits and nuts are grown in California. California is the leading US state for cash farm receipts, accounting for over 13 percent of the nation's total agricultural value. The top producing commodities for 2018 include:
    https://www.cdfa.ca.gov/statistics/

Commercial fisheries are an important part of California's economy. In 2011, approximately $201 million dollars in ex-vessel revenue (the amount paid directly to fishermen) came from commercial fishery landings, and more than 120,000 jobs on and off the water were supported by the state's seafood industry (NOAA 2011). Fishing communities from Crescent City in the north to San Diego in the south are centers of this activity, providing a diverse supply of seafood and a visible reminder of California's maritime heritage.

    As I said... Pffffft!

At the time of the Roe vs Wade decision, no one made a big deal out of it. It never became an issue until the Republican Party began to woo Evangelicals. At the time even Evangelicals didn't care much about abortion. The conservative think tanks had decided it was an issue that they could get Evangelicals to rally around. It was part of the deal, elevate Evangelical voices as long as preachers add a little politics to their sermons. I'm sure that Jesus had nothing to say about socialists or liberals, no matter how much Evangelical preachers condemn them.

No, we do not have the same desires. If you can admit that, then can you admit that leaving kentucky to do what it wants without california weighing in on what kenturckians want might not be the same?
