Bernie Sanders is the worst possible populist candidate for president the US since Huey “The Kingfish” Long, and if he wins, God forbid, we are in serious trouble. As to his ideas concerning the Middle East: it’s time to cringe in fear and vote for someone else.

snip ...courtesy of People for Bernie, in response to a question from the child of Israeli yordim regarding US-Israel relations under the Sanders Administration. Bernie said:

“To be for the Israeli people and to be for peace in the Middle East does not mean that we have to support rightwing racist governments that currently exist in Israel.”

This is a repeated argument by Sanders, which is yet to be challenged: should the US withhold its support from governments it deems rightwing and racist? Is that the President Sanders doctrine? Would the Sanders administration revoke its 10-year, $38 billion military aid contract with Israel, signed by the last Democrat in the White House, whom so many of us believed was anti-Israel?

“What American foreign policy has got to be about in the Middle East, bringing the Israelis bringing the Palestinians together under the banner of justice.”

OK, very interesting. This is taken from Bernie's yesterday's CNN town hall and there's a short clip in OP featuring Bernie's full answer to the question from the audience regarding US-Israel relations under the Sanders Administration. I suggest you watch it, and there is also an analysis of his answer.

The conventional wisdom would be that Bernie being Jewish would strive to improve the relations between the USA and Israel and take them to new heights, surpassing what President Trump has done. Listening to and reading about his Middle East ideas, I'm not so sure.

Watch the Squad endorsing and campaigning for Bernie - this along should tell you all you need to know who's a friend of Israel, and who is not.

What am I supposed to find objectionable here? You can’t get a deal without both sides. Seems like common sense.

Are most American Jews still vote for the Democrats?

Should I continue with my thought? :)

As for 'deal with both sides", it can't be done. The side will need to be chosen.

No surprise, there has long been a link between the radical left and Islam.

Oh, Bernie why must it be so??? I support the one-state solution and, I guess, Bernie wants the two-state solution. So this right here is an issue that we disagree on.

Well. I had long been asking myself if Jewish candidate is "electable" at all; But for the Jewish candidate to openly root for Israel's enemies did not think it was possible.

With Bernie, all bets are off!

It is not just Israeli-Palestinians relations; Bernie is also weighing on Iran, and Saudis... wait! I forgot Bernie is a Democrat!

So you don’t want Israel to remain Jewish?

Isn’t Iran behind much of the Palestinian attacks?

Well. Is not Bernie alienate Democrats' most faithful faction by siding with Israel's enemies?

And it is impossible to craft a deal with which both sides will be happy with. Impossible.

I wonder exactly what he means by the "banner of Justice." The phrase has a sort of Orwellian ring coming from Bernie.

Maybe those Russians who prank called Bernie the other day were actually right when they told him “In the Soviet Union in 1988, after you were recruited you were programmed to work for Russia and your memory was erased so the CIA wouldn’t track you down.”

I want it the other way around. A Jewish state and greater commons (West bank turned into Isreali settlements.)

I didn’t see him siding with anyone.
No a good deal should leave both sides mad.

That’s as implausible as the people who think the Jews should go back to Eastern Europe

Back to Bernie. As you see from OP, Israel does not want America to have Jewish President :frustrated:

By states I mean countries. Not USA liberal states. I mean they are just Arabs, right? They can go live anywhere in Arabia.

Yes the opinion of that Jewish writer clearly means that’s what Israel wants.
Actually Bernie’s candidacy proves jews want Bernie to win.
