Wrong the USA provided a tremendous amount of assistance to the USSR during WW II. Too much assistance I sould say. We should have let Germany feast on the USSR for a while so that both evils would have been irradiated.

If they always followed the contracts, they would not have attacked Soviet Union as it violated the contract- peace treaty between USSR and Germany, so this is not an argument.

 

What do you call tremendous? Most of the US help went to the UK, while UK did not bear the most load of the war. Yet, the help in terms of most impoirtant things- planes and tanks was just about 10% from what was produced in the USSR. Moreover, lend-lease has nothing to do with industrialization we were talking here- building plants, developing heavy industry. So lend lease did not significantly influenced the outcome of the war. Without it it would have been the same, Germany would have been defeated, only probably one-two years later.
