WE ARE A NATION OF IMMIGRANTS , some have been here for multiple generations while many other legal residents are only first second or third generation here. The ones with the oldest lineage here came when there was NO IMMIGRATION policy if you reached the shores you could stay. It was not until the 1920's that we officially adopted an immigration policy, prior to that if you reached here you could stay.

 

We are also a nation that had slaves... and we didn't let that continue forever.

Just because we had a lot of immigrants in the early years, that doesn't mean it is still the right thing to do.

 

We have a declining population with a very low birth rate we need more people in a capitalist society. Our over age 65 population exceeds our under 18 population. Who is going to work to support Soc. Sec.and Medicare in the future unless we increase our population????
