You want dialogue and you me give this....

Are these a series of statements you cannot support?

yes dialogue is good with THE RIGHT PPL otherwise it resorts to pettiness and immaturity as seen on the previous page.

@Esau, it was obvious from your initial post that your agenda was not to have rational discussion but to force your point down people's throats. While you certainly have an unfettered right to your viewpoint, your approach needs refinement if you expect others to give serious consideration to your position. Just sayin' dude.

Grew up a Southern Baptist, Presbyterian, attended Catholic and a few really weird churches.

In every instance every picture of Jesus showed a White man, blue eyes, light brown hair.

When I saw my first picture of a non-White Jesus I was taken aback. In my mind I just knew that wasn't right.

Of course, now I know that Jesus was dark skinned, with dark eyes and dark hair.

But it really matters not to me. Gave up on Christianity as a religion 5 decades ago.

Ahh, I ain't the RIGHT PPL. It seems you do not want dialogue, you want agreement. This is the wrong place for that. So I take it, those statements you made were just so much rhetoric with nothing behind them. That reflects badly on you.

No, "Pride is a sin, the sin that all others stem" is. That is what I responded to and you know it.

You were being persistent; people wouldn't agree with you and you kept hammering away. If they don't agree with you, then let it go and believe what you want to believe.

The quote you were responding to was "Explain how pride is the sin all others stem from, please. You lost me there."
You are being less than honest.

if you dont see that my establishing the idea of pride being the root of all sins is determined only by your acceptance of pride being a sin then how can you question my integrity? if you believe that pride is not a sin then you will never believe in it being the root. It is YOU who is being less than dishonest if you again fail to understand that pride as a sin HAS to be understood first and foremost. how about you ask me "how is pride a sin" first? dont you think that would be the logical thing to do, you cannot run before you can walk.

What utter nonsense. I did not question whether pride was a sin but why was it the root of all sins. You knew that and chose to dodge.

What makes pride the root of all evil and not sloth or greed? Envy and gluttony are pretty bad. But pride? So taking pride in your children or pride in your work is a sin? It can be a sin in the form of corrupt selfishness but your 6th Century view of morality is simplistic and out of date.

Unless you're saying Jesus was green then "dark skinned" is appropriate.

what utter nonesense. you know full well that before we can establish if pride is the root of sin we first have to establish whether you believe pride is EVEN a sin at all. stop being disingenuous. pride is either a sin or not, there is no half way stop here. when you come to this spiritual enlightenment and out of the dark ages where you mentally dwell then we can have an honest discussion.

Lol do you also think that blacks are literally the colour black?

Don't recall using the word "black" to describe anyone. Pretty sure I said "dark skinned."
"Dark" is simply the opposite of "light."

I am a man. In my world there's black, white, red, blue, brown, yellow. I will sometimes but not always recognize gradients like purple and green, sometimes but not often.

In my entire life, have never used "olive colored" to describe ANYTHING.

Now since I got rid of the ex I've not had to participate in one of these idiotic conversations about whether something is brown or tan or...
Not interested in having one now.

    AND

If you're going to use the word "black" as a racial reference then it is proper to Capitalize it. As in:

"He was a light skinned Black male." or
"She is a dark skinned Black female."

    How about Kalamata skinned?
Speaking of nonsense and the dark ages you are repeating antiquated 6th Century Catholic notions that I'm sure no current Catholic ethicist could get behind.
