Well to be fair, he could probably have some semblance of a point. It is true that Christian society has looked down on both Jews and black people. And since they were predominantly white and racist, they would make their heroic figure white. Then it would just become the false knowledge of the day and centuries later people would no longer need be racist to think it, and the idea that he was middle Eastern (as Jews in Israel would likely have been) would sound off.
