As Trump pushes for a wall, authorities keep finding drug tunnels under the U.S.-Mexico border

So how is your wall going to stop tunnels being built?

Err, so you think they have found all of them and no new ones are being dug?

In the middle of nowhere tunnels are not hard to hide. And perhaps you could say where these detection systems are being used near the border? Before you bother answering, there are no detection systems being used

You’re not understanding the numbers. Of what is seized, 90% is seized at ports of entry while the remaining 10% is seized in areas such as between ports of entry. Cartels can bring in a hell of a lot more drugs via trucks through ports of entry than they can on the backs of drug mules as in your pic.

Customs agents seized more than 67,000 pounds of methamphetamine smuggled through the ports of entry. Meanwhile, border agents seized nearly 10,300 pounds of meth last year.
While border agents seized 332 pounds of the deadly opioid, customs officers at the ports seized 1,357 pounds during that same time.
Historical data also shows that the amounts of drugs smuggled in between the ports of entry, where a wall might make a difference, is on the decrease. The total number of marijuana seized in 2017, the last full year of data available, is almost a third of what it was in in 2012.

    I'm understanding perfectly. You're not.

Where we have barriers and personnel guarding the border, we seize huge amounts of illegal drugs.

Where we have no barriers and easy entry into the country, we do not seize huge amounts of illegal drugs.

That is the reason you want control over the border.

Currently, there is no way to stop drugs and people coming across the border where there is nothing to stop them crossing.

    Right.

Out in the middle of the desert, an excavation that would require tunneling under at least 6 foot of solid concrete wouldn't be obvious.

All existing tunnel complexes are in heavily populated areas where they dig into existing drainage systems between structures on both sides of the border.

Based on the data I supplied there aren't anywhere near as huge amounts going through where there are no barriers, hence why lower amounts are seized. Math is hard apparently. But you can choose to ignore the data from the customs agents and border patrol.

    Sure.

I mean it stands to reason that we'd confiscate as much in places where there are no barriers and no personnel as in places where we have both barriers and personnel.

    Makes total sense.

Less drugs go through areas between ports of entry. Math is hard for you.

Yes it was closely watched and tallied by the people who aren't there to know.

Since drugs are in fact caught going through areas between ports of entry clearly there are people there. Not sure why you struggle with this. Anyway...you've been a complete waste of time as usual. Troll on.

Since clearly there are no people in the wide open areas of the border not catching drugs, I'm not sure why you're struggling with the obvious.
