I think this is a really bad idea. Transform them, train them better, more funding, but dismantle is a really horrible idea.

A field day for the city's criminal element; but apparently such 'leadership' is par for the course when it comes to Dem Party controlled cities. In riot wracked Los Angeles the idiot -- Dem Party -- mayor is going to cut 150 million from the police budget and give it to . . . well you can likely guess the next part.

 

We use MENIFEE cops. WE are about to ban the WHOLE dept. And invent, SUN CITY police dept. So what?

 

Kinda reminds me of what they thought they were going to do with Baltimore and we can see how good that worked out.

 

This is not leadership at all. This happened under their watch and now they want to take it apart and start over. Under their watch this happened, just in case you didn't hear that already!

And the lemmings will just follow these wholly unqualified morons.

 

You realize that they are not in California don't you? It's like not even in the same state as Minneapolis. Minnesota is a whole different state. They don't even sound the same. Say "Minneapolis". The police in Louisville, Ky walked out on the mayor today. The mayor better learn to suck on some butt real fast.

Rampant unmitigated rioting sends a huge message to criminals that they've got some leeway to conduct crimes. Ranting about "dismantling the police department" lets the criminals know its open season. GL Minneapolis, you're heading into a dark chapter.

 

If he is from the Menifee I'm thinking of, which is next to Perris and Homeland, then his problem is not cops, or even blacks, it's the illegals.

 

Watch how many on the left line up at the gun store.

 

Don't really care where he's from as long as it's at least a state away from me. "Colorado" sounds kind of like "California". Too many here from California already.

There was talk of disbanding our PD but it never happened (more to do with the budget) but if it had the Sheriff department would have filled the void.

Great idea. Who needs the cops!! Get rid of them all! And let the whole country know too! I'm sure nothing appeals to criminals more than the thought of having free reign. Make Minnesota a police-free safe space, see how that works!

(I suspect they'd be begging the police to come back in less than a month.....)

 

That's mostly why we moved out of Aurora. The gang crime rate was climbing in our neighborhood and more people were getting shot and stabbed on our block. It used to be a nice place with a lot of diversity. A lot of rich cultural mix. It was sad to see it go down hill. The police department sucked for decades but they were getting better. The mayor sucked even more. The city council were there pretty much to fill seats and have a title.

 

Kinda like I figured.

 

It's political pandering/posturing.

They want to both appease and get push back.

It's meaningless garbage.

But will the police be even LESS responsive now nationwide?

You betcha.

Lose/lose, especially for good people in communities of color.
