Dammit.....Ryan caved to the Pressure. We don't need Ryan as Speaker. We need him with Ways and Means. This might pull the GOP together for a bit of time. But that's about it. What say ye?

Paul Ryan will run for Speaker of the House, but it’s going to come with a lot of conditions. Getting the House GOP united is going to be the key thing and it looks like we’ll get a formal declaration later this week, if all things work out.

These are pretty big conditions, but it’s obvious Ryan really doesn’t want to be Speaker because he’d rather stay on the House Ways & Means Committee. At the same time, Ryan’s idea of what a Speaker should be is more along the lines of how Newt Gingrich ran things.....snip~

Ryan is meeting today with the Freedom Caucus. His also says a condition is, his family time.

Cutting it Close: Speaker Election Will Happen Two Days Before Boehner's Resignation.....

Talk about cutting it close. On Oct. 28, just two days before John Boehner is set to retire from Congress, House Republicans will hold their new speaker election.

Kevin McCarthy’s withdrawal left the race wide open. After much prodding during closed door meetings, Rep. Paul Ryan tepidly agreed he would be open to running for speaker if he could unite the party. In other words, he wants the support of the House Freedom Caucus, an ultra conservative wing of the GOP. The caucus will be meeting with Ryan Wednesday afternoon. On Fox News, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) said they are open to supporting him, but only if he leads in a way that does not conform to "business as usual."

One other condition: he would not give up his family time.....snip~

Actually Ryan is a pretty smart guy and even BO peep gives him his respect. Still he should have stayed out of this. Let the rest determine their own Leaders.

Although Ryan will be about putting more power in the Chair for all of the Committees. Which works with his me time/family time.

Con-artists are generally pretty smart people. His goal is president, he could really care less about the chair position, ergo the unrealistic stipulations. It will be a surprise if they give him everything he wants, and he swill be the most shocked of the bunch.

Yeah the Hardcore Conservatives want some rule changes over bills going to the floor. If the Freedom Caucus jumps aboard this afternoon it will only be for a short time. As they do have Webster from Florida to run. Another sharp Repub.

Paul Ryan has plenty of nerve to demand family time when most in his Party are against the idea of family time for the common workers.
