I'm probably getting my hopes up for nothing... but I can almost envision a Romney/Paul administration. I'd love to see Rand (or Ron for that matter) become VP. In either case, it'll be better than what we have now.

it's not really news at all

I don't care if you are a Paul zealot, a Santorum loyalist or road the Cain train, it is clear that Romney will be so much better for the country than the current resident in the WH. Is Romney the perfect candidate, no more or elss than Paul. In fact, with his executive experience I believe Romney to be the right man for the job right now. In another time perhaps that person would be Paul. The country needs an executive right now and you won't agree with everything he does but as long as the country moves in the right direction then that is all that matters. We've done ideology the past 3 1/2 years and it's pushed us almost over the edge.

The only surprise and/or shock I see, is that Old Ron finally admitted that his delegate total is "not enough to win the nomination."

...must be shocking to some of his more rabid cheerleaders.

It seems odd that Rand would support a candidate that has already voiced his support for the NDAA detention clause.

Paul was one of the few Senators that voted against it and very vocally. Romney has instead been supportive of the NDAA detention clause.

I guess Rand is looking to jockey for a higher position.

They can't agree on everything and Rand has more in common ideologically with Romney than he does with Obama so his endorsement makes sense in that regard.

Logistically Romney and Rand Paul would work...you always need someone from the south and Paul is pretty well liked and knows his way around. Day by day and sometimes hour by hour things shift more toward Romney...which is why Obama loves late night TV. It's all he has left.

if this is REALLY true that he really said that this is further proof that he is a sellout to his father caue Ron has said he wont rupport Romney if he does not get the nomination.Im starting to think power has already corrupted Rand.He wants americans to give back 40% of their social security. He is starting to get compromised and if he really said that,he has REALLY sold out his father now.

I'm sure Ron understands, having acknowledged that he doesn't have what he needs for the nomination. I wager that at the end of the day, Ron will approach this in a pragmatic way... four more years for Obama, or support for Romney?

Rand has betrayed the conservative movement.

I understand the idea of Mitt and Obama being the same thing, but at the end of the day, who's more conservative... Mitt or Obama? In the unlikely case that Ron also endorses Romney, what will you do then?

He might be a tad better on the economy, but as a libertarian, I'm almost positive he'll be worse on foreign policy and social freedoms.

To be honest, speaking of FP, I do have a bit of fear that Romney might be too willing to go preemptive on Iran should the opportunity present itself. I'm not overly concerned though, 'cause we're broke and tired of war. I can't see Romney doing anything large scale without congressional approval. I think enough people have learned this lesson by now. Die hard Obama fans are fine with Obama's questionable militancy, but let Romney try it and see what kind of noise they make. Additionally, non-interventionist conservatives/Libertarians will add their voice to the opposition.

I agree. You must build on what is common. It is a winning strategy.

When Ron Paul endorses Romney, AND HE WILL, Paulobots will deny he did so,, just as they have been counting imaginary delegates that Paul NEVER had. And then Paulobots will vote for obama out of ignorance and childish spite.

Romney wont win the presidential office, its just gonna be a show...

and Rand's support for Romney will likely affect his future election seats..or this is could a strategy of some sort..

And i dont know why some nutjobs keep saying Rand seek aproval..like his a baby..Ron Paul said a long time ago that Rand ''its old enough'' to make his own decisions.

whether or not you're correct about that is in no way related to ron paul

you know, the guy that wasn't even able to win a single state primary election

and could barely get 10% of the vote in his home state's primary election

obama's fate is sealed just as the Republican candidates fate was sealed in 2008. A Republican couldn't win in 08 against any of the Democrats running. obama can't win against a light breeze with his pitiful record of failures.
The gross idiot just had a press conference where he lied that the economy was doing FINE. 4 months of declining jobs. GDP falling, Consumer confidence falling off a cliff, unemployment increasing, GDP falling, and the dufus in chief says all is well.

He needs to be returned to his home plant.

Rand Paul should lose his grassroot support and he will need to earn it back. If he is legit, the backlash should shake him up.
