LONDON — A member of Britain’s Parliament was shot and stabbed to death Thursday in an attack that stunned the nation and brought to an immediate halt the country’s European Union referendum campaign just a week before the vote.

Police did not provide a motive for the killing. But British media organizations including the Guardian and Sky News quoted witnesses as saying that the assailant shouted “Britain First!” during and after the attack — a slogan linked to anti-immigrant groups.

“America First,” of course, is the slogan of Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee.

Britain's far-right party, which is involved in the Leave campaign, was implicated in the shooting incident. A witness said that the attacker "was seen and heard ranting 'Britain First'" during the incident. Last month, Britain First held an anti-EU rally in Leicester and the group “Midlands Anti-Fascist Network” showed up to push Britain First out of the city. While Britain First insists it is not a racist party, it campaigns on a familiar anti-immigration platform, the Britain First party calls for the return of “traditional British values” and the end of “Islamisation”. Although it claims to have just 6,000 members, now has more than 1.4 million “likes” on Facebook. The shooter may not be an official member of the far-right party, but he may be an online supporter or Facebook fan of Britain First. The victim was known for promoting multiculturalism and cerebrating diversity of her northern England constituency.

Ok, her name was Jo Cox BTW. I just thought maybe you were so upset by it that you would at least want to know her name since nether you nor your source bothered to mention it. Your source, however, has this attack categorized under Donald Trump which is just so very sad. Even the Washington Post, as thirsty as they are, as your source's source did not try to link Trump to this story.

It was the National Alliance which gave the shooter instructions on how to make a homemade gun. I cannot locate the suspect's Facebook profile, which would confirm his British First membership. Either way, the attack was ideologically motivated and the woman lost her life for being a passionate diversity campaigner.

Amazing. You guys are so desperate to smear Trump that you will just do anything, such as blaming Trump for the Orlando shooting, and blaming him for some shooting in the UK.

    And then there is this:
    http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world...d-british-lawmaker-jo-cox-has-died/ar-AAh7ttq

Cameron said the killing of Cox, who was married with two children and had worked on U.S. President Barack Obama's 2008 election campaign, was a tragedy.

What was a UK politician doing working on a US Presidents election campaign?

She was only elected as an MP in 2015. I don’t think it’d a bad thing for people involved in politics to gain insights in to the workings of the political systems of other countries though. Probably part of what made her so good at what she did.

obama, OFA, and google have been interfering in foreign elections - Canada, Israel, UK, maybe others I have not heard about - as well as stirring up regime change in other places (Libya, Egypt).

Its not surprising that foreign politicians and operatives are coming to the US for training in derailing their home country.

Its a sign that the "progressives" are a global organization, not a national organization and that their allegiance is not to the nation in which they live but to the "global initiative".

Oh shove it! Your petty party politics is even less welcome in this context than it usually is.
