The revered NBC News anchor accused of unwanted advances pens a strenuous denial and defense of his legacy. Tom Brokaw, the NBC News anchor who has served as a distinguished anchor emeritus since stepping down as anchor of Nightly News in 2004, penned a blistering rebuttal to accusations that he subjected an underling to unwanted advances in the 1990s when he was the network’s biggest star and she was a 28-year-old just starting out in network news....>> https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/n...ser-claims-i-was-ambushed-perp-walked-1106418 Another Left-wing so-called "journalist" experiences the pain of exposure!
"In a series of interviews with Variety conducted over several months, Vester alleged that Brokaw physically tried to force her to kiss him on two separate occasions, groped her in a NBC conference room and showed up at her hotel room uninvited. Two friends who Vester told at the time corroborated her story with Variety, and she shared her journal entries from the time period."....>>
No one should take this woman seriously because she waited about 2 DECADES to make such an allegation. What does she hope to accomplish? Perhaps 15 minutes of fame, maybe a few paid interviews?
Perhaps....we shall see how this all develops....but we do know that 'journalists' are not that much different from their Hollywood celebrity counterparts in their proclivity for assaulting women!
I agree, buy for this woman to wait until 2018, with the political/social climate on that particular issue being as it is, I don't see how anyone can take her seriously.
The first few charges against dirty Harvey Weinstein weren't taken seriously either....but now he's just a short step away from being arrested and put on trial!
I'm not familiar with the details of the Weinstein case, but I think there's probably more evidence of Weinstein's harassment than any alleged harassment by Brokaw. Again, that's not to say it didn't happen, just saying it's dangerous to accept allegations made by someone 10+ years after the fact, especially when the accuser has absolutely NO EVIDENCE to support the allegation.
I think it's important to give the statement of the victims some credence....despite the length of time between the actual assault and the official reporting of said crime!
I don't think an alleged victim deserves any credence WITHOUT EVIDENCE. Anybody can make a claim. Remember THIS prime example? en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crystal_Mangum
That's why we will wait to see how this all plays out....and if others come forward with allegations against Brokaw!
There's nothing to wait on with regards to Vester's claim. She doesn't even allege that Brokaw committed any crime. No crime, no case. So again, what was the point? We can wait to see if any other women have any allegations against Brokaw, but Vester is OBVIOUSLY seeking attention and probably money.
Isn't that the same attitude that women have been dealing with for decades?? Famous distinguished persons are not immune from tha kind of predatory behavior. In fact fame and power often is part of this conduct.as many acquire an attitude of entitlement.. that society reinforces with its "hero worship? The male gender has dominated and many have been serious preditors and got away with it for virtually centuresi. They get away with it with the same attitude described above. Blaming the victim. It is the FACTS that matter........ and yes...... some females have ulterior motives........... but to lump them all into that category is just plain wrong. Society is changing and for the better in this regard. Long overdue. Just like a lot of other ladies who have been victimized .........she might have been reluctant to come forward......knowing the reaction she would get........
Well you must obviously have inside knowledge....knowing that she "obviously" merely sought attention!
No crime, no case? My, how things have changed! Tom Brokaw accused of making unwanted advance by third woman https://www.thenewscommenter.com/news/...brokaw-accused...third-woman/955609 day ago - A third woman has come forward to accuse former NBC News anchor Tom Brokaw of making an unwanted advance toward her early on in her journalism career. Mary Reinholz claims in a new first-person testimonial that Brokaw, who was married at the time, attempted to kiss her inside her rented...>>
I read today that a third woman has come forward. However it was decades ago. So correct. And just because it is not an out-and-out forcible rape doesn't mean we have to be subjected to such an environment in our daily lives. It is also time that celebrity, wealth, and hero worship have to go away. The more people look up to others; the less they think for themselves.
Celebrity adulation is a national weakness....but I see little evidence that hero worship will be done away with any time soon!
I found Kathie posting at PBS newshour and she is a great and welcome addition. She took me up on the offer to come to this forum to ruminate.
Vesters point is more than one act, it is where the act took place, was she encouraging him or was he trying to have sex. He was forcing her to kiss. I recall when Vester was a feature on FOX and she had her own program. A sad day was when she announced she was departing to be with family. If Brokaw played a role in it, damn the man. She was awesome.
I vaguely remember her. I was more into Greta Van Susteren and Ashleigh Banfield during the Bush administration.
He's a Leftist "journalist".....I'm sure he has more than enough dirt to be revealed without destroying attorney/client privilege!
Ohh you betcha they will....whereas Trump is already guilty in their tiny noggins, Brokaw will get "the benefit of doubt before he's criticized"!
He's from the old school of Left-winger "journalism"....where they still attempted to hide and deny their bias!
