I did read your follow-up to the above and still ----

What, I sincerely and unsarcastically ask you, constitutes a "true conservative"?

I descended from a Salem Witch Trial victim. Just what sort of old fashion values do you suggest? The old fashion values of Democratic former Senator Robert Byrd, the senior Klan leader? The mad-dog violence of Antifa or the misapplied efforts of Black Lives Matter? I met, shook hands with and talked to losing GOP candidate Barry Goldwater. He struck me as the guy next door making perfect sense. Of course he lost. I met Bill Buckley. Same thing. The idols of conservativism get into their underpants one leg at a time, just as do thee and me. Unless of course you're Welsh. (A joke to a member here.)

Riots. Mobs of hooligans with cabin fever, who ALL bought in on the wrong excuse and tore things down in the name of reparations no sane voter would ever allow them to have, 150 years after the fact.

If the issue of elapsed time were factored in, the Japanese reparations were pitifully low, considering inflation after their losses. The U.S. Government under Democrat President Franklin D. Roosevelt seized businesses which had been built up by the peaceful first- and second-generation "Japs," the officially-approved term. In the time since then dollar devaluation was not really accounted for.

They were truly racial victims. Democrats played racial robbery and shoved paying the bill for their crime onto another generation.

Which leads us to the NEXT-oldest offense --- against Native Americans. They got theirs ahead of those wily foreign devils who used to sell us junk until underbid by the Chinese. Long may their tribes prosper, which, with so many self-induced health issues, might be foreshortened dramatically. Those of native extraction in Michigan's Upper Peninsula are in perilous shape thanks to underemployment and nonexistent tourism.

Democrats answering to Jackson spread cholera on blankets and Democrats presided over World Wars I, II, Korea, the bloodiest bungled bulk of it, anyway) and of course all the military intervention in the sandbox which whet that terrorist appetite to come fly America. Truman had no choice but to save military lives and end Japan's will to pursue the war. I served there two years. I know firsthand they learned peace --- no matter how many student riots are outside the base gates.

I voted for Ron Paul twice and when it came time to vote for McCain or Romney I didn't cast a vote for either. Why would I vote for two military industrial complex tools? My support for Trump stems from the fact that we would have endless war with Hillary and the continual destruction of our freedom/economic power if she was allowed to become President. At least with Trump it was a gamble and a good laugh. Voting between a Romney or a Obama was asking what color **** you wanted on your ice cream cone.

Romney and many others are a RINO (Republican In Name Only). I don't understand why they play that game. Maybe someone on the Forum can explain.
