This is exactly why Buttigieg could beat Trump. There is a large contingent of gay-haters among Trump supporters. If the dems nominate Buttigieg, the gay-haters on Trump's side will be very vocal about their bigotry. I don't think Trump hates gays, but he knows that his base does. And he doesn't really have a backbone. So Trump will not speak out against the vocal gay-haters because he will be too scared of alienating his base. As a result, more moderate conservatives, which I believe make up about 50% of the GOP base (though Trump probably thinks it is closer to 20%), will want to distance themselves from Trump. They will do so by either not voting for him or by voting for Buttigeig.

 

Maybe I will take the time to look up some TIGTA audits on the subject but right now I am going out to lunch. If I do later and post them will you admit you are wrong.
