Maybe its different where you live, I can only testify from my vantage point.

I think most American workers are only struggling to survive in these tough economic times.

 

They are available. Just have to be willing to make less. Sucks to have no skills.

 

I used to make a lot of money, too. Then got laid off when employer got too greedy. Your turn is coming too. There are millions of others who got the shaft. Stop being self-centered and think of others for a change. Somehow I don't think you'll blame yourself when you get laid off.

 

You come off as very arrogant. I hope you never have to struggle like millions of others have. When did being an American become to mean extreme selfishness and taking pleasure in other peoples' suffering?

In many areas it is too expensive to live where there are jobs that "make less." All we are asking for is a living wage. Is that too much to ask for in this "Scrooge" economy? When did people get so selfish and unfeeling?

 

The problem is, You are an exception, Not the rule.

Not that I'm saying what you've done is wrong or anything like that, I feel it's great. But for the vast majority of the poor and lower middle class, They will not be able to do what you did.

The problem is, When they fall, They will do everything in their power to take YOU with them.

Think of welfare as blackmail. As a government, They give the poor and lower middle class money to placate them and keep them from mass rioting and looting. It allows the rich to get richer while still at least helping the poor and lower middle class not starve. But now, Many want to take that away.

Are they prepared to live with the consequences of that? Hope they have lots of guns and bodyguards.

Please note, I'm not advocating this outcome. I'm personally hoping there can be some compromise reached before we get that far. But the way many people are thinking (in black and white), I don't think a compromise will be reached.

Thats right. They can't find one. Thats because most of them are getting to used to the gov't handout to take care of things or maybe because the illegals are sneaking in more easily and grabbing those jobs. Like the gov't doesn't give a (*)(*)(*)(*).

 

I pay for performance, by the job. The more you are willing to work, the more you make. Hourly wages simply invite sloth and clock milking.

 

That's silly.. I know people who have been sending out resumes and pounding the pavement every day for 14 months..

Around 70k a year, that's unskilled labor, so really not so shabby.

Herman Cain is a joke and has no hope of winning the election. It will be nice to see him crushed by Obama. It will be even nicer when the house is swept by liberals and things will actually get done in this country.

No I agree with you. Its unfortunate "we the people" has turn into "we the sheeple". No one knows what hit them because they were too concerned with "celebrating".

Its a slam dunk.. that creates three revenue streams... and saves major money for industry.

Well, if you have a small family and you are earning 75K.. then suddenly you are making nothing and scrambling for jobs paying $22,500.. to 35K... when you can get an interview.. Having NO relationship to an excellent work history.

Who was living beyond their means?

 

Its not mathematically possible (uber-foodcost inflation is coming).

They can't rob me if I have nothing. LOL

 

I live at $30k although I make $80k. Others should have been doing it too. MANY others.
