Now it doesn't mean "to cause fear" but to be fearful. It is an exception to the law about lying although it doesn't cover any lie. It allows them to deny being Muslim if their life depends on it.

Say some crazy was walking through a train shooting every Muslim.
Taqiyya would permit a woman to remove her head covering and deny she was Muslim.

That's about it. Of course radicals have changed it to mean many things. The meaning of it in Islam though cannot be changed.

One big problem with all religions is that they are usually full of the customs of the period and location. Take head covering, all women in the region covered their heads in those days even Jewish and Christian woman.

Why is it you think you are being silenced when you have no other reason to say it other than to p1ss them off or prove some stupid point that you can say it.

The right to free speech is something that should be cherished not used as a way of inflaming situations. It is a way we can use our voices to change things that are wrong it can also be used to do wrong, it is then not free speech, it is a crime.

Inciting violence is a crime as it should be , so as hate speak incites violence, it is a crime.

It's a bit like planning to murder someone, you don't need to carry out the plan, the plan doesn't even have to be feasible. It's still a crime due to intent.
