You're not helping your case with this "If you don't believe as I do you're a knuckle dragging flat earth neandertal". No wonder nobody listens to you, a Dale Carnegie graduate you are not.

And I have yet to see one fact from you but I would like to know what your credentials are. I don't think you have any. Start with that.

And by the way, you are so off topic it stinks, the topic is "can atheism coexist with religion", and the answer, as you have demonstrated, is HELL NO because you don't know the difference between religion and politics, and you apparently don't know the difference between science and politics.

I was told by an exceptionally intelligent and diplomatic Atheist.......
that my belief in G-d who learned and evolved over infinite time in the past.......
is technically a variation of Atheism?!

    No kidding..........

Where did Intelligence begin, in matter or fundamental energy?

Sorry, my son, but you epitomize the pot calling the kettle black for your numerous off topic, accusatory and false accusation posts. Shall I provide examples or do you accept the truth...for once?

This thread has numerous examples of extremists who prove that those of differing beliefs cannot get along, but, IRL, I thing most people can do so. It's the extremists who are the problem.

Proverbs provides many verses about the wrongness of lying and liars. If a person truly believes something to be true, but are, in fact, wrong, is it a lie? No. An atheist who believes there is no God is not lying. However, if they have doubt or if they use their professed atheism to cause harm to believers such as ridiculing their beliefs, only then do they become "liars". Same goes for believers who believe differently from others. If they are sincere, they are trying to be true, but if they use their beliefs as a hammer to harm others, they are spreading falsity and using their beliefs as a weapon to harm others. It is then that they become guilty of "bearing false witness".

    Proverbs 12:22
Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, but those who act faithfully are his delight.

    Proverbs 13:5
The righteous hates falsehood, but the wicked brings shame and disgrace.

    Proverbs 14:5
A faithful witness does not lie, but a false witness breathes out lies.

    Proverbs 17:4
An evildoer listens to wicked lips, and a liar gives ear to a mischievous tongue.

    Proverbs 19:9

A false witness will not go unpunished, and he who breathes out lies will perish.

    Proverbs 25:18
A man who bears false witness against his neighbor is like a war club, or a sword, or a sharp arrow.

    Be true to yourselves,
    Father Max

As many have proved on this thread, hate is strong in some people. They are the "squeaky wheels". It's important, IMHO, to remember that they are the minority. The haters are loud, but few in number. Most people mind their own business, regardless of their spiritual beliefs. The haters and liars will continue to spread their hatred and lies, but most people, the great Silent Majority, recognize what is truth and will act accordingly in their daily lives and, more importantly, at the voting booth.

You appear to only have two replies: "Ironic" and "puerile". How ironic and puerile.

Disagreed, but I can see why they are lost on both you and likeminded people.

Here are more for those who actually care to appreciate them:

    Exodus 33:19
And the LORD said, “I will cause all my goodness to pass in front of you, and I will proclaim my name, the LORD, in your presence. I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.

    Isaiah 30:18
Yet the LORD longs to be gracious to you; therefore he will rise up to show you compassion. For the LORD is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him!

    Jame 5:11
As you know, we count as blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of Job’s perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy.

This one you and IJM should pay particular attention to, but I doubt you will:
    Psalm 51:1
Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions.

    Absit invidia,
    Father Max

Someday perhaps, you will recognize that what you deem hatred is debate and discussion as well as disagreement or disbelief in your version of this God entity. It is unfortunate that your oversensitivity is usually activated by someone replying to your own commentary in a way that you did not want.

It is likely you will consider this very calm and civil reply to be hateful as well.

I see it now. Someday you will recognize that what some people deem debate is really hatred. Someday you will see the difference between discussion or disagreement and name-calling, ridiculing and mockish taunting.

Admittedly you have been ridiculed and debased, but these have generally been heated reaction to persistent refusal to actually debate a point or distraction from it by quoting further Bible verse which becomes tedious at best. Often in debate when one side does not engage appropriately the opposing side becomes frustrated and reacts in anger. None of this is hatred, and most certainly not hatred of your God.
Personally I have no hatred for you as I have no reason to, I have no hatred for your God as it does not exists in my mind. My point in this is that your use of the very charged term "Hatred" is an inaccurate appeal to emotion and ineffective. Hate is usually reserved for the most extreme actions or peoples rather than something bandied about as willy nilly commentary.

It goes both ways which was the point of my post which you chose to overlook.

To reiterate; atheists and theists do get along but a few loud-mouths make it appear they do not.

It only looks that way from your short horse. The fact remains that most atheists and theists mind their own business and get along just fine. It's the divisive people, the loud-mouths and trolls, who sow dissension and hatred against one group or the other. Obviously among the theists, there are those who spread hate with the "My religion is the true religion and yours is false" ideology.

At in terra pax hominibus bonae voluntatis,

Then there are the "I'm the only one who knows anything" crowd. Really?

People come to places like this to discuss things. They want to give their opinion, not suck up to almighty Max. Who died and made you moderator?

Now go ahead and report this post like you do all of my other posts, since you can't stand an independent thinker.

And drop the fake Priest thing, it's getting old and it makes you look petty.

You should try looking in a mirror and speaking your posts first before posting them. It would greatly lessen the risk of you looking bad, hypocritical or just silly.

Yes, "people come to places like this to discuss things" but for some reason you believe no one should disagree with you. If they do, then you call them liars, trolls or crap all over their religious beliefs. Obviously you are not a priest, although you might have been one once. I hesitate to question why you wouldn't be one anymore out of concern you'd have me banned.

    Stamus contra malum,
    Father Max
