Canada is pulling out of BO peeps coalition. They know BO isn't committed to taking on Daesh. As BO should have been arming and assisting the Kurds. What say ye

Canada's prime minister-elect Justin Trudeau said Tuesday he told US President Barack Obama that Canadian fighter jets would withdraw from fighting the Islamic State group in Iraq and Syria. But he gave no timeline.

Canada last year deployed CF-18 fighter jets to the region until March 2016, as well as about 70 special forces troops to train Kurds in northern Iraq.

During the campaign, Trudeau pledged to bring home the fighter jets and end its combat mission. But he vowed to keep military trainers in place.....snip~

My impression is that this is extremely intelligent politics.

He states clearly that he wants to bring those jets back home but........... does not give a specific date for doing so!

The situation is astonishingly complex. In another discussion here I read that 96% of people in the Middle East who answered a particular poll.........wanted to see genocide on the Alawite Muslims of Syria. The video that was given in the post was pretty shocking and gives us a good idea of why President Assad of Syria is fighting so hard to remain in power. He knows that if he gives up power to the rebels.........… his people will likely suffer a holocaust much like the Jewish people did during the Nazi era!?

Mornin Dennis. [IMG] It is definitely a smart move for Canada. They already know that BO peep can't be trusted. Plus they know the Shia in Iraq can't be trusted to help the Kurds.

Yeah for some reason, the West allows Qatar to run its big mouth. Qatar, thinks they can buy their way out of trouble. All know they kiss the Muslim Brotherhoods ass. The west needs to give Qatar some Ultimatums they wont like.

But who cares what they like. They are one of the main instigators with the Sectarian divided. But never seem to be putting their ass on the line. That can be remedied.

What I would like to see is for Qatar to go into Syria. All by their lonesome and pathetic selves. Lets see what they can do taking on Assad by themselves.

Lets see them stand on their own two feet for a change. Put their money where their mouth is. So to speak.

I am a firm believer that a truly ethical and courageous political leader would want to see the creation of an independent Kurdish State.

Am I naïve to think this?

It seems to me that an independent Kurdish nation would be able to do a lot toward decreasing and even eventually stopping ethnic cleansing and persecution of the Kurdish people throughout the Middle East.

No you are not.....Several believe that we should help the Kurds gain their Autonomy. We then would have an ally that could be trusted and one that wont stab us in the back.

Turkey has been the problem along with the Shia in Iraq. Both need to be told to STHU and get use to the new future that they wont be allowed to mess with.

I think we should even move our Embassy out of Baghdad Right into Kurdistan. Actions speak louder than any words. We should have done so ASAP. As in a few years ago. Leaving the Shia and the Turks doing nothing but their usual. Whining and crying.

If the USA dollar goes south fast........ Qatar could go bankrupt virtually overnight.........… I don't know enough about Qatar myself to comment intelligent on what you wrote here..... so I am really curious what your opinion of this idea would be because it is pretty obvious that you are far more well informed regarding the Middle East than I am!

I wouldn't lose no sleep over Qatar going bankrupt.....All I know is we shouldn't allow them to dictate anything. Unless it concerns themselves. Governing over their own people. Staying out of affairs of others.

They, just like the Saud. Have been pushing to remove the US dollar as the reserve currency.

I do agree with Trump on the issue that we should be making them pay for protection. Over their Shipments of Oil. Not us paying them a fee to protect them.

Speaking of The Donald.......... I have an unusual theory about what he is really doing?

I think that The Donald......… wants to play the role of a modern Boris Spassky to Mitt Romney's version of Bobby Fischer?????

Back in October of 1990, (or was it '89).... anyway.... I taught my step-son to play chess and he became Nova Scotia champion for Grade 5 students within four months.

A couple of months after that I took him to the Canadian national championship in Montreal and he did win against the Grade 5 champion from Saskatchewan, (one of the only other provinces with a population of only one million).

Back around 2003 or so I noticed an online chess comunity....... joined..... and saw somebody there with a Grand Master rating. I politely asked them for a game....... admitted that I would not be much competition for them....... but..... that I was interested in how many moves I could survive against somebody with a 2000+ rating.

In five minutes we had each made over fifty moves....... and although I had just lost my Queen...… I probably could have delayed the inevitable for at least another twenty moves or so.

I feel rather firmly that The Donald is underestimated and is doing his level best to set up both Mr. Mitt Romney as well as his wife Ann??????!

The Donald.......... is out to shut the Democratic Party out of the White House for four terms...… but in order to do it....... he has to play the role of the villain.... the bad guy????!

Well things will be easier now with Biden and Webb dropping out of the Demos race. They just handed a leftwing comanation over to Hillary. So the Donald will be able to have some fun with Hillary now.

As for the Canadians.....I was glad to know our Canadian Bruthas were fighting with the Kurds while training them. Sending some of Daesh to their next life. [IMG]

Hope they did a little work that was Classified too. [IMG]

I lean heavily toward the idea that we should instead take a look at some of the benefits of certain economic experiments of the past which could set in motion a series of events that would lead to government leaders not viewing our situation as being even worse than it actually is.

President Lincoln saved taxpayers four billion dollars...how can we do this in 2013?

I was given a copy of this article in 1994.

After reading this article those lectures from Economics 101, 212 and Economic History sure took on a whole new level of importance.
