http://pittsburgh.cbslocal.com/2013/06/26/teen-beaten-outside-of-brookline-rec-center/2/ Note: The article mentions the race of the perpetrators and the race of the victim, but please don't discuss that in this thread. Threads get deleted (not just locked) because of that kind of on-topic discussion, although I'm confident that those kinds of decisions are not made rashly. These kind of worldstarhiphop related attacks seem to be on the rise. Gangs of youths seek out a victim, turn on their cell phone cameras, and film savage beatings with the intention of putting the videos up on the website to earn respect from fellow members. Why is this not being talked about regularly in the media? Sure, this is a CBS local news story, but will it make it any further than that? Will the national news networks pick this story up and try to understand this ongoing trend of racially motivated attacks? Or was this really just a case of stealing someone's shoes? Any thoughts?
Ah, so instead of deleting the thread, the rogue mod just moves it to a part of the site that receives very little traffic. Why does this thread not fall under a "current event"? The story was written 13 hours ago.
