CCW to the rescue myth

First, it was a terrorist attack. You know, guys that hijack planes and crash into skyscrapers, strap on bombs and explode themselves, not exactly your average perp now is it.

Second, military bases with the exception of entry points and MP's are gun free zones.

How many died in the police station shootings? Zero to very few. Death by cop happens, and there's no better place than a police station.

How many unarmed people have died in mass shootings in gun free zones? Many, many more.

 

Excuses excuses. Every time someone debunks your claims you move the goalposts.

The claim that zones with guns are impervious to mass shootings has been more than thoroughly discredited and the allegation that most shootings are in gun-free zones has been thoroughly discredited.

 

One guy getting shot in a police station is not a mass shooting, or a mass killing. Try again.

 

Keep moving those goalposts!

 

You claimed the police dept. shooting was a mass shooting, but it fits no definition of mass shooting or mass killing, so the goal post is in the same place it always has been.

It is pretty cool how you did a separate post for each of those though. Bravo. I liked how emphatic that was.

 

Additionally, I'd like to clear up something else now that I think about it.

What you've done here is actually reinforce the point we are making.

No pro-gunner has ever made the claim that guns in schools, or on a campus, or in a theater or restaurant or mall or anywhere else will prevent someone from being shot.

What we say, and what is reflected in all those examples you researched for us, is that people who are armed are able to mitigate the effects of an active shooter. Some will die in the initial surprise attack, but many more will be saved when that piece of human feces starts taking return fire. Even if he's not killed, his spree is severely curtailed or ended.

People (aside from law enforcement) with guns don't stop mass shootings, they commit them.

 

People carrying guns does not mean CCW holders.

You're actually kind of proving my point. I live in Texas and illegals are everywhere here. Which is why they cause so much crime. Because they are in densely populated areas.

 

Funny, out of 15 million CCW carriers less than half of one percent have lost their CCWs due to abuse or illegal usage of a gun.

You're much more likely to be shot by a police officer than you are a CCW holder, and even more likely to be shot by a person in the general public who does not have a CCW.

Having a CCW license is not the same as taking your illegally purchased gun, stuffing it in your shorts, and going out to commit mayhem.

Thanks for obfuscating half of my previous quote in your response, and in trying to paint CCW's as criminals, it says a lot about your argument for everyone to see.

Perhaps if concealed carry were allowed to the law abiding (who don't carry in those zones, abiding the law no matter how stupid it is), then perhaps they could do something about mass murderers favorite playground: the gun free zone.

 

Most shootings happen outside designated gun free zones.

 

And this has happened how many times compared to the increase in firearm injuries from increased number of guns?

Let's see how that stacks up to the number of people killed by doctors and nurses each year, you know, the 3rd leading cause of death in the US

ALL THESE ARE DEATHS PER YEAR:
•12,000 -- unnecessary surgery
•7,000 -- medication errors in hospitals
•20,000 -- other errors in hospitals
•80,000 -- infections in hospitals
•106,000 -- non-error, negative effects of drugs
