The WAPO has a story as well.... Lots of "alleged crime" BS.... Barkley is spot on. https://www.washingtonpost.com/nati...aw-do-not-write-check/?utm_term=.c5ac04befebd
I heard Smollett's lawyers didn't know who Charles Barkley was and thought it was a racist taunt from a white Trump supporter...
Remember when SNL used to be this funny? They won't dare touch it, Charles is very witty, wittier than SNL.
I'm pretty sure this is an invalid thread in the wrong forum, but I'll let others make that call.... For all you lauding Barkley, just remember that he stumped for Doug Jones in his home state and could very well be a Senate candidate from there in the future. I'm sure nobody would be a better questioner on a congressional committee than Sir Charles...
Barkley was open to the Republican party back in the days well before Trump. What pro athlete admits to being a Republican?
Plenty. Here’s SOME former and current pro’s who voted trump: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.aol.com/amp/2016/11/08/sports-figures-who-support-donald-trump/ Here’s some other conservative sports figures: https://m.washingtontimes.com/multimedia/collection/famous-conservative-athletes-1/?page=21 And some more: https://m.ranker.com/list/sports-re...-republican-sports-stars/famous-conservatives I’m sure there are names replicated in those lists(they probably all have Tom Brady for instance).
Not many, but Barkley has long ago learned the error of his ways SNIP A little background: Most of his adult life, Barkley was a Republican. His mother said, “Charles, Republicans are for the rich people,” and he said, “Mom, I’m rich.” About 10 years ago, Barkley re-identified as Democrat, but with roaming privileges. His political interest is all about narrowing the gap between the rich and poor by increasing opportunity and education. ENDSNIP https://www.sfchronicle.com/sports/...ey-went-to-Alabama-and-found-his-12429033.php He's a Democrat, even when he identified as a Republican... how do I know??? He has a sense of humor.... It's the one characteristic Republicans cannot fake... It's like a DNA gene or birthmark you cannot remove....
I was just going to post that if white people had made those comments they would be considered racist.
Total bullshit. Reagan had a better sense of humor than the Clintons (all three of them) and the Obamas (both of them) combined. It's democratic politicians who don't really have a sense of humor. Back to Barkley, in my eyes, he only has one strike against him in terms of his decision making--he chose Auburn over Alabama.
Uh huh... Reagan huh? Well, he was closer than most. But again, that was a different era... Since 2000, not a one can claim anything approaching a sense of humor.... although I did see Ben Sasse smile once. That puts him at the top of the heap. The rest? Humorless personality-devoid, replaceable widgets....
"His political interest is all about narrowing the gap between the rich and poor by increasing opportunity and education". I think you'd find most Republicans and Independents would support that position. The key of course is "opportunity and education". The Democrats seem to prefer to simply throw money at "the poor". Pushing to increase opportunity and education is not simply throwing money at the poor, but rather giving them a chance to improve their own situations. It sounds like he would rather teach them to fish, instead of just giving them fish. That's sounding awfully Republican.....
