I use these in my BOB, very simple to do and will last for years. Ingredients: Big Gulp Straws Vaseline cotton Pliers Bic Lighter Making fire sticks: Cut the straws in 3 equal parts and set aside. Mix cotton and Vaseline together in a bowl until nice and soupy. Grab a straw and with a chop stick push the cotton soaked Vaseline into the straws leaving a little room at each end. With the pliers pinch each end with a little bit of straw showing. With the Bic lighter melt ends of the straw sealing the contents.
Question....These are for? (Stupid question I know) But dont you need something to start the fire either way? Also any good easy way to start a fire to light something?
Good question. If you live in places that a lot of rain (Wet tender/Wood) it is necessary to have something with a little punch. In my BOB I also have matches, Bic lighter and Fire Steel. It lends you options for your environment.
Cool just wondering lol seen a few people on instructables.com make these and save them in zip lock baggies just dont like the idea of zip lock baggies saved in a backpack (I hate messes) But this is a unique way
