There was no "trying" involved, it was a straight-up answer to your question. You asked why rape would be morally wrong to an atheist, and I said due to empathy and a desire to maintain social order, and to ensure it doesn't happen to them or anyone they love. It's not difficult to grasp Mr. Psychologist.
I probably support the 2A more then you do as I support the right for EVERY free American having a right to protect their home and family, not just those I think are privileged enough to own a gun I also think no one should have to get a license to conceal a gun, that should be the normal respectful away to carry a gun .
You spout nonsense about gay people (*)(*)(*)(*)ting themselves and then go on to call me ridiculous when I call you out for it? Really? You're actually a terrible person.
Oh yeah, do your little dance. You said religious right, not the radical religious right, the loony religious right, or any other small minority of the right, you said "religious right", inferring all right As far as the muslim religion denouncing gay marriage, you or any other liberal never address their bigotry, only christian. So be consistent with your hate if you please
No that is not what I asked. I was basically asking where they get the authority to make these moral claims if there is no God & we are all just accidentally here? You need to work on your reading comprehension.
Juan, you are a fundamentalist, a quack selling holistic snake oil to self-loathing gays dumb enough to pay you for it. You are disrespectful and bigoted, with absolutely no tolerance for difference and no ability to see past your animus for gay people. Terrible. Ironically though, YOU are the marginalised one. And you know it. Good look with those obsessive, abnormal views.
You have zero proof I am even a Christian, let alone a fundementalist one. Show me saying anywhere at any time here on this forum, ANYWHERE.. That I claimed to be a Christian. If you can't,", you can kindly shut your trap.
You need to work on thinking outside the box for once in your life. Such a limited viewpoint/line of questioning. Why is a man in the sky needed to determine that something is harmful? Morals are indeed subjective, but there's a pretty good logical case for not allowing rape for the reasons I explained to you.
When did I say you were a Christian? I said you were a fundamentalist. If anyone needs better reading comprehension it's you.
I know all the risks associated with anal sex. You're acting like you're making some fantastic 'killer' point. It's quite funny... Not all gay people like or engage in anal sex for the record. And all of those risks are mitigated and virtually eliminated by using condoms. Since I'm not promoting unsafe anal sex I have no idea why you are posting that
We'll, that's a great explanation. And by the way, you just explained the need for both. If no baby pops out with man on man, now we have a natural process of population control, which is a necessary requirement for the perpetuation of the species. Thanks! You just made the understanding for both, crystal clear. I couldn't have done it better myself. I just can't figure why the Cathy's never figured that out.
Not going to happen. Muslims are mostly non-white minorities who also hate Christians, Western culture, and capitalism. Whatever disagreements the left has with the Islamic religion is to be put on the back burner until their mutual enemies are destroyed.
So as long as its hidden like a cold sore you are ok with it. You do not support the 2A if that is your feeling.
The man died. We all will. I know that's a shock to liberals but it's true, we all die. And, he had 93 years and to be honest I worry more about living too long than I do dying too young. I've already passed the too young threshold.
Better than 4,000 people showed up at today's service for Truett Cathy. People had to park at Tara Field and be shuttled to the First Baptist Church. Luckily, one of my offices is literally right next door to the church so I was able to park closer and walk over. Truett Cathy did a lot more charity work than most people knew. As mentioned earlier in the thread, his fostering of children is one but he really seemed to donate to every charity in the Clayton County area. How many people will show up at your funeral? 4,000 is a huge number for a made who made chicken sandwiches. I only wish that I could live 93 years and be so loved. Apparently, Westboro Baptist Church was busy elsewhere. So no protest.
Having morals, scruples and common sense decency does not need to have any relationship to religion in order to be put into practice. Violating the privacy, modesty and physical and mental will of another human being is just an inherently taboo act in the eyes and mind of any rational and non-sociopathic person.
Yes, I am afraid the things this man stud for is dying out. You shouldn't care. He was just another rich, religious guy that stud up for his beliefs and treated his employees more than fair. He used his money to help others and give a future to those that was looking like they had no future. Many of the things those on the Left hate. Yes Gorn, I'm afraid the things this man stud for is dying out. God help us.
Start a different thread under religion if you want to discuss the basis of moral systems. Has been debated many times before to no conclusion.
