In an interview with the Baptist Press published this week, Cathy doubled down on his stance against same-sex unions:

    Link: http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/lookout/chick-fil-gay-marriage-201108120--finance.html

I have been to a Chick-fil-A once, and it was no different than any other fast food restaurant. However I am fascinated by how Chick-fil-A has a vision and a core belief system that rejects the current political correctness mandates set forth on the corporate world.

This story reminds me of another situation affecting the corporate world: active discrimination of white males via affirmative action. Why do gays enjoy the benefits of being a "protected minority" but white males continue to suffer from a regime of discrimination in the corporate world that promotes underqualified minorities over themselves under the guise of "diversity"???

In other words, why do the corporate world's anti-white male hiring policies not ruffle a single feather -nobody says a word about it- but when a company president expresses his non-offensive personal views regarding homosexuality it makes national headlines?

Notice the below image of Yum! brands touting their diverse image - according to their website they are proud that only 35% of their workforce is white non-Hispanic. If you have the ability to read between the lines, they are proud that they actively discriminate against white males when trying to increase diversity: "We are also increasing the representation of African Americans, Hispanics and women among our key talent/decision makers, and growing the pipeline of diversity in our mid-level manager ranks."

Why can't a corporate behemoth (not necessarily fast food) break the mold and start enacting policies touting their "whiteness" instead of their "blackness" or "browness"??? It seems companies are quick to boast about the token minorities who work at their companies, but nobody would ever cross the line and be proud of having an overwhelmingly white workforce... That would be corporate suicide!!!

Its a great story. Its unfortunate that they are not allowed to have a belief without the left demonizing them.

Nowhere did they ever state they would not serve the sodomites, they merely stated their position on an issue.

It will be a good day when sodomy ceases to exist.

Chick Fil A is way better than most fast food places. Their food is always fresh and tasty and their service is actual service. I admire their unwillingness to be corralled up like typical corporate sheeple. They do what they want and their customers admire them for it.

Exactly. That is why we need more companies like Chick-fil-A.

I'm sure the Marxist element on this forum will make its entrance here sooner or later...

    What ya got commies???

Chick-fil-A is a family-owned company and its founder began applying biblically-based principles to managing his business such as closing on Sundays, operating debt-free and devoting a percentage of its profits to charities. Chick-fil-A President Dan Cathy's stance on gay marriage is consistent with the company's philosophy and most conservatives support the biblical definition of the family unit and it does not constitute discrimination against gays.

    Just to clear things up, thats not a biblically based principle, at least not on Sunday. Its one the catholics instituted by their own self proclaimed authority;

"From this same Catholic Church you have accepted your Sunday, as the Lord's day, she has handed down as a tradition; and the entire Protestant world has accepted it as tradition, for you have not an iota of Scripture to establish it. Therefore that which you have accepted as your rule of faith, inadequate as it of course is, as well as your Sunday, you have accepted on the authority of the Roman Catholic Church." (D.B. Ray, The Papal Controversy, 1892, p.179)

"The authority of the church could therefore not be bound to the authority of the Scriptures, because the Church had changed the Sabbath into Sunday, not by command of Christ, but by its own authority." (Canon and Tradition, p. 263)

Good on them!! Let the sodomites stay away from a Christ-centered business owned and operated by a devout Christian. Score one for Truth.

I don't care what they believe in really. They have some really really really good food. Only problem is they are closed on Sundays. No biscuits on Sundays.

I like Chick Fil-A- unfortunately none out this way. Food is good, service is good- and you get biblical quotes on the packaging.

Chick Fil A stays closed on Sundays because of the founders beliefs- and I say- good for them- the horrors of a liberal saying such a thing!

Now racists and bigots I still find revolting but Chick Fil A is A-Okay.

There aren't any Chick Fil A's around here, so it's hard for me to actually boycott them.

They're free to believe what they want. People are free to take their money elsewhere if they don't like it.

That's my day off. If they can't hire some Jews, Pagans, Muslims and non religious people to work on Sundays, then screw them. I'll go to another local cafe....What's a chickafil? Never heard of the place.

Sorry, Blue laws and those that try to abide by them (*)(*)(*)(*) me off. If my day off was on Saturday and I couldn't get breakfast in the morning because of some religious slackers, I'd be pissed off as well.

Screw Christians and their "we all need to go to Bible School on Sunday and sing" (*)(*)(*)(*). Some of us want a decent meal on our one day off.

I wanna (*)(*)(*)(*)(*) about Hobby Lobby as well. Their owner thinks they should be closed on freaking Sundays. Can't they find any Jews to work?

I spend thousands of dollars to do stuff on sundays, but since they are closed before I get off work during the week and saturday, I'd have to take a day without pay to go there. Sunday isn't an option so I go to Walmart and muddle through.

I live in a three shift world that goes 24/7 and for a place to be closed on my day off, whenever it is, especially a major chain, means I won't shop there ever.

I hope the place goes out of business for discriminating against people that have jobs during their operating hours.

    Can't. They aren't open.

Maybe they should close thier doors on Monday, Wednesdays and alternate Fridays as well? I wouldn't notice.

BTW, if a Catholic goes to church on a Saturday night, it's okay to work on Sundays.

Still, it's okay that Chik a Fil closes it's doors on Sundays. It give it's employes a chance to make money working part time on Sundays working at KFC for the Sunday morning Rush.

All I know is that in my little town, all the churchies flock to local eateries for Sunday Breakfast after church and it's (*)(*)(*)(*) near standing room only and the lines are long. None here are stupid enough to shut down on the biggest morning of the week as far as business is concerned.

I like to go to Miranda's at about 9:30 so get the fresh stuff and beat the churchies.

Well I'll be sure to never go to one again. I will not buy products from a place that actively petitions our government to continue to treat a group of their fellow citizens differently because they are bigots.

Maybe Chik a Fil will earn enough money catering to people that don't work and are straight to stay in business. It's their niche.

Street preachers, retired seniors living on diminishing Social Security and the unemployed are a gold mine, I hear.
