I guess this is the reason Biden wants to pull troops out of Afghanistan, because it's a much more plausible excuse than his sudden flip-flop on troop withdrawal. And let's get real. He doesn’t want to tax the corporate profits of his friends at Blackwater and Vanguard Group, he only means to distract all of us from his foreign policy and national security disasters. Despite woke media portrayals in the US and Europe, Biden has essentially been sidelined, mocked or outplayed by every relevant player in the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. Nobody trusts him, especially given his role in the Obama Administration. Iran won’t even take a meeting, and Turkey would rather discuss their options with Israel and Russia. India, Turkey, Japan, India, Israel and Saudi Arabia are all leaning towards an agreement with Russia over a multiplicity of trade and security issues. Why should I care if China has troops in Iran?

 

Because Chinese-Iranian ties strengthening will prove to be a powerful counterpunch to the US. I find it ironic that it's forming under a Biden, not a Trump administration when we were told that the Trump Administration was the worst ever at everything, including foreign policy.

They are already punishing countries by embargoing goods from coming into their China, such as timber from Australia. They've already been in multiple firefights with boats.

Trump put together an anti-Iranian coalition comprising of Saudi Arabia, UAE, Egypt, Azerbaijan, Morocco, Turkey, and countries along the Horn of Africa. He also established an anti-China coalition of Australia, India, Japan, etc. He wanted an alliance with Russia given China had hacked the Kremlin, and Russia was already giving arms to China's enemies. But Democrats just couldn't see the picture. Every alliance that Trump created for the States of Israel is still holding, and Biden has been completely sidelined. No one trusts him. Russia and China took immediate military actions a couple months into his Presidency. He has no diplomatic abilities. Sanctions and tariffs are what drove the two counties together. They were Trump's only tool ever, it was the only thing he ever did. Sometimes you need a screwdriver and not a sledge hammer.

BTW: China is playing this very well. It is investing heavily in other country's infrastructure, in particular in Africa, in turn receiving interest payments on these projects for decades to come. In contrast, the Trump vision was to isolate the US from those "shithole" countries, because they are not worthy, and let them fend for themselves.
