China considers legal changes on technology to placate US (China Blinked)

Donald Trump tries to fool his own people by telling them that America has "taken in billions and billions of dollars in tariffs from China and from others". In actuality, “tariffs on Chinese imports are paid by Americans, not by the Chinese or their government", as pointed out by Johns Hopkins University applied economics professor Steve Hanke, a member of the Council of Economic Advisers under President Ronald Reagan.

There is no reason why Chinese leaders should "blink' first unless they are as gullible as the American public to be fooled by the "con man" (Marco Rubio's allegation).

The recent volatility and downward slide of the US stock market shows that the US economy is weakening. If Donald Trump carries out his threat to increase tariffs on more Chinese goods, he will be likened to a fool dropping a rock on his toes.

I recently saw an old (old!) episode of The Beverly Hillbillies wherein Jed looked at some knickknack that had "Made in Japan" stamped on the bottom of it and was very impressed at something from so far away. It was meant to be a joke, according to the laughtrack, but today "Made in Japan" signifies the highest quality. You say China is a different story, but sleep on China at your own risk.
