SERIOUS BUSINESS....CHINA DEFEATS THE U.S. WITHOUT A SHOT BEING FIRED, UNLESS THE U.S. BEGINS TAKING CHINA SERIOUSLY. The first publication you see is a recent NY Times article by a scholar on cyber attacks i.e. Pasi Eronen. Mr. Eronen is referring to the largest attack on U.S. security ever by China this year. .......
The second writing is my take on China from a year or two ago, sent to the TH Record in Middletown whom apparently wrote me off as a nut lol. Choose your future. This stuff is real.
    ......................................................................................................................
Mr. Eronen - The OPM hack should not be seen as an isolated, one-off case, but as the tip of an iceberg, one piece of a larger ongoing Chinese campaign in cyberspace against the United States and its interests.
It is a persistent, multi-pronged and low-intensity campaign, which does not aim at simple “shock and awe.”
The campaign’s long-term goal is to improve China’s strategic standing vis-a-vis the United States without — and this is the key — provoking a military response.
The Chinese and their collaborators hope to compromise America’s core intelligence capabilities and erode the source of US global power: its economic dominance.
Both to safeguard its global standing and to establish more sustainable rules of the road for cyberspace, the United States needs to lead the technologically advanced — but still highly vulnerable — Western world and reclaim its cyber-security.
We must start making our adversaries pay a steep price for their attacks.
** Pasi Eronen is a project researcher for the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, focusing on economic power projection and cyber warfare. He is also an executive-in-residence fellow at the Geneva Centre for Security Policy.

THE U.S. V CHINA POKER GAME: CHINA HOLDS THE ACE.
For several years, I have proposed that China's long range strategy is to "Rule the World" without firing a shot. Far fetched? Read on. Chinese innate intelligence and pragmatism is real. China understands the patience required of a tree grower. A large tree may take a hundred years to grow but, when matured is the largest and strongest plant on earth. I am convinced that China's secret philosophical belief for 40 years has and continues to be a "One World Government" with China holding the "Ace". For good reason, China has been tagged the "Sleeping Dragon" throughout history.
    1. THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS - For 40 years, China has groomed and combined the best elements of Capitalism and Communism. China is socially communist, exercising oppressive government control over its citizenry. China is also very capitalistic. The Chinese government encourages trade with U.S. corporations, reaping great monetary returns to its manufacturing sector. U.S. corporations are increasingly looking to China for a source of labor and innovation in manufacturing. A long term "business marriage", if you will. Remember, corporations are driven by the profit motive, not social equality.
    2. NO RUSH TO WAR - If you understand the following "tree grower" concept, you will gain a grasp on China's thinking. "Put a frog in a pot of boiling water and it will immediately jump out of that pot. Put a frog in a pot of cool water, it is pleased. Put a frog in a pot of cool water and ever so very slowly heat that water to boiling, the frog becomes lethargic and eventually dies".
Ever so slowly, China cyber attacks our highest of security systems. China continues to increase its stock holdings in U. S. corporations as it continues to invest in major tracts of U.S. real estate. What's wrong with that, you say (and so says Congress). The fact is if China were to simultaneously call in all their U.S. held mortgages, China would bankrupt our fragile economy - without a shot being fired. U.S. corporations and Congress permit China's economic aggression. Why? "Would you want to upset your landlord?" Wait! China won't call mortgages because the "water is not yet boiling".
    3. THE CRITICAL BOILING POINT - The final step in achieving the critical boiling point is to propagandize the U.S. citizenry into accepting the benefits of China's communist culture. This is the old Soviet Union strategy in reverse i.e. "Soften up the enemy" prior to, rather than after the fact.
The following article appeared in the Times Herald Record today. The place is rural Thompson, NY, about 100 miles N/W of New York City. The time is right and the "Ace" wins in this economically depressed community.
".....Now a group with ties to China has come forward with a plan to build a replica of the Forbidden City ....on 2,232 acres along the Thompson and Mamakating town line. ....The project will employ the principles of ""Yijing"" and ""Feng Shui"" to design a cultural mecca with museums, hotels and pavillions. ......China City has submitted ....glossy brochures written in English and Chinese......There will be two styles of homes, one for Chinese Investors....."
Folks, here is the kicker and the point of my dissertation. Communist China has undertaken a very thorough study of capitalism and understands the theories of capitalism exceptionally well. China knows how and when to use its "Ace in the hole". Just ask the residents of Thompson, NY.
Thompson supervisor Tony Cellini states the following;....."I HAVE AN OPEN MIND AND I THINK IF SOMEBODY COMES AND WANTS TO SPEND $6 BILLION IN OUR COMMUNITY, WE SHOULD LISTEN...."

China's long term plan is to restore the Middle Kingdom to its rightful place in the world. That means a sphere of influence extending from Central Asia to the Second Island Chain in the Western Pacific, and around and across the Indian Ocean to East Africa. Once that is achieved, the Chinese will decide how much farther their sphere of influence should expand.
