Being that you are a longtime viewer, and someone who still watches the show. To see you mention you didn't know he was a Christian tells me the kid was not going overboard with it, as some have tried to imply.

Yes, very much true. I don't vote, 'cause I work evenings & watch it recorded. I don't seek out the social media, 'cause I don't care to at all. I saw no indication from watching the TV show that Colton was an "on the sleeve" Christian, he just seemed like a good kid to me. I'm actually happy to know now, 'cause I'll root for him even more, even though I'm rather indifferent to his music.

The ACLU has already created multiple incidents of case law in regards to the pledge. No one has to say it. You can stand during the pledge and say nothing.

I went to public school and never said it once. I stood respectfully.

It's a fake issue, IMO, no different than Bill O'Reilly's war on Christmas.

there is no valid reason to include it, was just fine without it, it should represent all American children, not just those that believe in a god

there is a war on Christmas... but it's a war by people like Bill who do not like the secular American Christmas and want everyone to be forced to celebrate a religious Christmas instead

Right. Because your average 8-year-old is so self-aware and sophisticated that they're going to be totally comfortable standing quietly in mute protest while the rest of the class is reciting a pledge led by their teacher.

If the Pledge were only said by adults, I'd agree with you. But when you have kids being presented with a Pledge backed by the authority figures in their life, it's indoctrination, not a choice.

I wonder if Thunder would be as defensive if Colton was "overtly" Muslim rather than Christian.

It must be a true Christian Resurrection and a return to the Traditional Values and Teaching of the Holy Bible. Christians should more and more protest against continuously bashing of Christianity and persecution by judges.

The entire pledge is an indoctrination.

Are those the same producers that coerced Dixon to audition this year even though he didn't want to??? **rolls eyes**

From the center, the further to the left a government goes, the more totalitarian the government is. The further to the right, the closer to anarchy.

Fascism is totalitarianism. So is communism.

The left likes to push fascism to the right on the false assumption that the Nazis wouldn't attack the Communists if they were on the same side of the political spectrum. The Nazis, and Hitler in particular, didn't care about the Russians due to political ideology. They wanted Russia subjugated because they viewed the Slavic people as Untermenschen first and as a major challenge to their power in Europe, secondly.

One side note is that the left and right at their extremes are inexorably tied together. Anarchies tend to devolve into rule by a strongman or someone charismatic resulting in totalitarian rule over time.

Communism has always been taught in ECONOMICS class because it is an economic state wherein wealth is either evenly distributed or shared. You could have an anarchic communistic system or even a monarchy.

Fascism is a totalitarian political system that returns to a country's glory days.

Social Fascism can be any wing that employs it. It's stupid to think otherwise. Obviously, leftists or atheists are capable of imposing their will and beliefs on others. An attempt to muzzle Dixon's personal expression of belief was made - but that's an ironic measure by the lefties who produce the show, considering their weekly stated desire to have the contestant's personalities aired, and to have their beliefs and emotions expressed in their music.

Just not certain beliefs, or certain emotions, apparently. Purely fear driven.

    If you say so.

A few years back, Adam Lambert flaunted and pushed his homosexuality. If the producers had asked him to tone it down because they were afraid of alienating viewers, I (*)(*)(*)(*)ed sure would have been upset with them. It's what makes him and his music his.

Exactly. And if Mr Dixon goes out before the finale, then he has made the decision to stick to his guns and do his thing and has no one to blame but himself.

Gee, sounds like words straight from Obama's mouth doesn't it?

Wealth redistribution and sharing. 2 words that have become common from the left over the last 3 years...lol.

Someone on the radio summed it up best yesterday. All this (*)(*)(*)(*) thrown at Tim Tebow, from Jesus-lover to worst QB in NFL history with no NFL arm.

Go through his history and stats in High School, College and the NFL. Then remember this:

He's was a rookie QB. Montana went 2-14 in his first season and 6-10 his second. Steve Young was woeful with Tampa Bay and sat the bench in SF behind Montana. I think they did pretty well.

Would you feel the same way if someone goes on that very same show and flaunts their sexuality?

And? Adam Smith, the grandaddy of capitalism would roll over in his grave against the corporatism of the modern era that masquerades as capitalism.

There is no capitalism. Subsidies, tariffs, single source contracts, and Congressional pork have killed capitalism. Now, we have corporatism which is pretty much an economic oligarchy that has subverted the fairness and equality inherent in a free market.

So, if I have to choose between communism and corporatism that strangles entrepreneurs and small businesses to provide extreme wealth to a privileged few, well...I'll go with the option that provides me with the ability to have a roof over my head and food in my stomach.

BTW, Obama is no socialist. He's not a marxist. He says things that make the poor people believe he cares, and things that excite the rage sensors in Republicans, but essentially he's got a fat portfolio and is highly invested in corporatism himself...hence his reward to big pharma and insurance giants.

    1. Correct about the Slavics.

    2. During the holocaust, political opponents comprised of communists.

Okay, Hat, you admit you have never watched the show. I have watched all seasons of the Australian version, so the American version would be identical.

The producers know who their audience will vote for. That's why all the good looking guys get through into the top 24 even though they can't sing a note. The best singers get boote off but the guy who takes off his shirt and shows off his 6 pack gets to stay, even though he sucks at singing.

The producers are trying to HELP the kid. They know that the audience will be turned off at his constant preaching and God thanking. They are simply giving him some advice, tone down the religious stuff and you will have a chance. They are not doing it because they don't want a religious contestant, its just to assist them and help them out. The producers know what works and what doesn't.

If the kid wins, good for him. But if he loses, he will always have to wonder whether things could have been different if only he had paid attention.
