Let's see. Preaches the gospel. Is involved with and supports Christian missionary work (he worked with Mother Teresa). Advocates non-violence. Peace advocate. Have you ever heard of Christianity?

He and some of the others I mentioned - like Graham - advocate the same things. Claiborne's main focus may be on a different aspect than Graham's, per se, but they do not stand in contradiction. While focusing on things that leftist groups like touting more, Claiborne still says that he is passionately pro-life, for example.

I do believe you and I have held a similar discussion previously.. perhaps on pm? I do try, but oh my goodness the folks on this forum make it so difficult for me to resist.

 

As the bible(s) contain unconfirmed and often disproven commentary which a preacher is telling everyone is pure truth......would it not be acceptable to claim they all lie?

The Bible is amazing. It's very impressive. I especially like the Revelations, that's the good stuff right there.

Of course it would, but not because of the reason you state.... rather it is because the Bible accuses man of being a liar. "Rom 3:4 God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged."

 

Wait....so you are saying we are all liars, based on a book that you are apparently saying is the truth in reply to my pointing out the book is creating the liars in the first place because it must inherently be full of lies.

No! I have "come out" as pointing to your admission of telling lies to your congregation. Just because I agree with the fact that you admit to telling lies, does not mean that I agree with the lies that you allege.

I believe that there are others on this forum who disagree with you on that point. In fact there is one in particular (name withheld for privacy reasons) who sent me a PM stating that he believed me to be very 'tactical' in my thinking. Notice the #3 definition below.

I can post countless quotes from you where you state, categorically, that I lied to my congregation.

Where is the dishonesty? In your saying that it is dishonest and then not point out what is dishonest. That is intellectually dishonest.

I agreed to the fact that you admitted that you had lied to your congregation. A simple matter of accepting your admission at face value and not even attempting to refute that admission. In like manner, you have never attempted to prove that what you were calling 'lies' were in fact 'lies'. Another dishonest information that you have posted... calling something a lie without offering proof that the something you claim to be a lie is actually a lie. Your art of deception is being uncovered. You admit to telling lies to your congregation, yet you offer no proof that the lies were in fact lies. I agree with the fact that you admitted that you lied.

 

And what are those listings supposed to be showing? You said you were gonna show PROOF of something... I don't see any proof that you claimed was there. Are you still delusional today? Been drinking again? Perhaps on drugs? Also, there are no proper links assigned to the quotes. Are you in the habit of changing the comments in the quotes of other people?

Not nearly as pathetic as you. You admit to telling lies to your congregation, then don't have the manhood in sufficient quantity for you to tell the congregation that you had been telling them lies, then brag about a new evolved faith, which does not provide you with either that required manhood or with the integrity that would allow you to call yourself honest in any degree. Now that is a description of how pathetic you are.

If anyone is able to follow no statement of instruction or information but only 3 little dots that lead nowhere... then they will end up going nowhere. Now if that is the kind of people that you consider "able" to "reason", then you don't have your goal set very high.
