Paul threw out "king of bacon"...an obvious double entendre to Christie's weight. Christie should throw out "I think Senator Paul's concern for national defense is as real as his hair."
Christie basically labeled Paul and his supporters as "dangerous", even though no one in particular provoked him into saying that. He also used the victims of 9/11 to try and shame them. Now Christie wants to pretend like it was Paul and his supporters who made it personal? The governor needs to stop being so stubborn and just admit his initial comments were inflammatory and unwarranted.
Unlike Christie's progressive detractors, Paul's criticism stems from substance, not insult. Chrisite's weight is not at issue here, no matter how much you would like it to be. Yes, that kind of dialog would be more in line with progressive thinking. Instead of debating issues in a substantive manner, the two could just hurl insults about one another's physical appearance.
True....but he DOES have the Shatner Turbo 2000!!!!! - - - Updated - - - You mean like how Kentucky gets back more money from the Federal Government than it pays in....and Rand's excuse was that it was because of "Fort Campbell and Fort Knox"? Fine....when Rand proposes defend spending cuts....how many are targetted at Ft.s Campbell and Knox? He's as phoney as his old man on "bringing home the pork".
Okay, so you are done fixating on their physical appearance. That is good. Now, as to your complaints, I'm not sure how you can blame Paul, as he has only been a Senator since 2010. Kentucky's net consumption of Federal tax dollars isn't something that became reality after his election, is it? Why would he target those bases over, say, bases in foreign countries? I guess prioritizing the cuts is not something you support? Not at all. Both of them have opposed excessive spending in Washington DC by speaking and voting against it consistently. Of course, when their votes are overridden and money is being appropriated, they have a fiduciary duty to their constituents to obtain a portion of the funds, as they pay taxes, too. The progressive meme seems to be that the Pauls' constituents should pay for spending but not benefit from it. Obviously that is an absurd notion.
They are revving up for what will be an excellent showdown to watch in a GOP Presidential Primary debate one day. I would love to see Christie vs Rand Paul vs Gary Johnson vs Thomas Sowell. I would Pay per View that.
Here was Paul's offer to Christie: http://video.foxnews.com/v/25775478...of-words-with-gov-christie/?playlist_id=86929 To summarize: Paul was not against funding for Sandy. Just wanted to offset the spending with cuts to foreign aid. Paul has not voted for any "pork" to Kentucky. He is one of the most fiscally conservative politicians in DC. Paul has nothing against Christie personally and thinks there is room for both of them in the party. Christie started it and now he refuses an olive branch. Seems like his stubbornness can be a weakness sometimes.
and neither one will gain the GOP nomination for President in 2016. The reasons are easy: Christie will not win the GOP primaries because he thanked Obama for actually coming through with his promise to NJ after Sandy. How dare a Republican governor say that Obama was doing a good job weeks before election day! Paul will not get the nomination because his daddy's legacy preceeds him. What, did Ron Paul run for President about 20 times? And probably the most important reason is HE IS A FLAMING LOON!
