Here is another story of our anti-government libertarians who end up depending on government, yet seems to not have learned a thing! Of course, they don't seem to be able to understand much of the world around them, in the USA or at sea. They are "fed up with government control", yet seem to like the idea that government should control homosexuality. They think they pay taxes that pay for abortions, and that churches, which get a free ride in the USA, are "government-controlled". But now that they are saved, they are going back to the USA to hatch a "new plan". Which we can be reasonably certain will depend on the efforts and generosity of others and of government to make their "God given miracles" come true again! http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/08/10/religious-family-lost-at-sea_n_3738010.html
If you're right and I'm wrong we still end up in the same place, HOWEVER, if I'm right about God and you're wrong I end up in a better place and well you end up............................bring your asbestos union suit.
So libertarians belive the government should control homosexuality? These people might be religious righties, with a handful of libertarian leanings, but anything more then that is a stretch.
The government never saves, only enslaves... Really, the Japanese did the real work of taking them to port, but why anyone would want to go to Oz as a last resort would bring their sanity into question...
That's the trouble with liberal progs. They think the government is God and Obama is their messiah....it is quite hilarious.
The Americans trapped in Benghazi called the Left's god in Washington DC for help and the Left's god went to bed because he had a big campaign day coming up.
A storm passed and then the sun came out? It must be an amazing MIRACLE! What a bunch of idiots; and it seems like it was 'god's will' that the residents of Kiribati don't have to suffer American religious zealots stinking up their beautiful island! Amazing.
Hahaha. Venezuelan fisherman find them in that massive bit of ocean and you say God abandoned them. Lol. A family of desert dwellers takes to the high sea and lives to tell is an act of God. I live on the water and wouldn't do something that stupid and expect to live. Thread might as well have been "Man jumps off ledge because faith in Christ. Saved by bird instead. " How does government come into this again? Venezuela hasn't nationalized fishing.
Thats a fact right there. - - - Updated - - - You might as well call your ancestors that too. They did the exact same thing, when they came to America.
Act of god? Nope, they got lucky-just like thousands of other idiots who get fished out of the ocean every year by passing ships. Oh, and the Venezuelans arrived, presumably, after having received a distress call from the Christians' radio.
What aren't we told in this story? the size of the boat and condition the experience level of the sailors why they pushed off during storm season? (probably plays to the experience level) Maybe it's just me but it seems the lack of details plays to the agenda of who carried and wrote the story
I think Oliver Cromwell, who was a Puritan with a deep faith in God, put it best. When addressing his army on the eve of battle with Royalist forces in the English civil war (musket and pike era), he said: "Put your trust in God and keep your powder [gunpowder for the muskets] dry".
What's really funny is that it's actually the people like you who oppose Obama who think that, not the people who support him.
really??? Lets ask obama....
kind of funny, but i gotta say at least they were putting their money where their mouth is. it tooks multiple storms to stop them and its not like they came running back. they arent smart though, they could have at least found a stronger form of transportation lol.
oh, then Ill explain it to you. Obama basically claims hes the freakn messiah and he can control the tides, and heal a planet...
I missed the reference to Libertarians, dave. Surely, you wouldn't just make that (*)(*)(*)(*) up, would you?
This is NO different than the anti-gun treehugger who goes hiking in Alaska and doesn't bring a firearm and gets eaten by bear or the ultra-enviro-wacko who thinks they are professional and climbs Mt. Hood with only a cellphone for GPS and gets lost. There are seriously dumb people everywhere.
He didn't claim anything of the sort. In fact, I didn't see anything in his speech that you wouldn't find at pretty much any politician's pep rally. Plus, he was not claiming that HE will do anything, he said WE, as in, everyone working together.
