    Here's the ad:

Can someone explain to me where the racism is supposed to be? I don't see racism on the Coke side of this one. What I am seeing, however, is racism by minorities against whites. If the actors handing out Cokes in this commercial were non-white, would these offended people from Mexico be complaining about this commercial? I highly doubt it.

But it's interesting to watch the reaction to a commercial like this. I'm reminded of my signature. White progressives pandering to these minority groups in order to advance the cause of social justice, when in reality, many of these minorities have nothing but contempt for such efforts. They don't appreciate the condescension. They don't need a white savior in their lives, and they may not even be buying into the racial egalitarian mindset that is being sold to them.

Ironically, these idiots calling it racist are being racist...

But hey, that is the irony with most claims of racism....

The real racists are the ones that pull the race card...

This statement reveals a shocking lack of knowledge, even for you. Mexicans are made up of different ethnic groups, including European (Spanish) origins and indigenous people. They have indigenous people for the same reason Canada and the US does - there were people in Mexico before Europeans settled it.

LOL! "Europeans settled it" alright except they were not called "settlers". They were called Conquistadors or Conquerers...they were from Spain which is why Mexicans have Spanish sounding names and speak Spanish not "indigenous". LOL! One of the biggest ruses of late is hispanics claiming to be "Indians" when they are really descendents of Spanish Conquistadors. Who do they think they are Elizabeth Warren?

BTW, and while we are at it "Mexican" is not a race. Those who claim it is are just trying to piggy back on the legitimate Civil Rights movement of blacks.

The ad is condescending and pandering. But that's normal for the type of crap that marketing people come up with to sell products.

Look at it this way - what if the ad was set in rural Tennessee and the locals were shown as backwards, poor and simple with ragged clothes and broken down cars and appliances in the yard of every run down house-trailer? Some city kids from the Big Apple come along, who are obviously through their dress and mannerisms more sophisticated, and build them a Christmas tree out of GQ catalogs or something. And the Tennessee folks celebrate their generosity and everyone has a Coke together.

Wouldn't watching that make you squirm a bit?

This reminds me of the Just For Feet ad during the Superbowl. It was so bad the footwear company sued the advertising firm that created it.

Indigenous people in Mexico speak indigenous languages. You don't know a thing about this do you?

All I can say is the local Taco truck guy has Coca Cola from Mexico. It is much better than the U.S. variety. I think they use real sugar. It has 'hecho in Mexico' (made in Mexico) on the label and they are glass bottles.

You want the inside scoop on Mexican anti-WhiteAmerican racism? Attend any LaRaza meeting, and see what a invasion of racists is doing to rot our nation from the inside out.

Yes I do and when I lived there it was rare to hear those languages. Most people there, like in the US, are of European descent. The reason I say that is not because I was told it but I saw it with my own eyes. I lived in Mexico and travelled all over it so I can say with much certainty you have no idea what you are talking about.

You didn't know there were indigenous people in Mexico or that they spoke indigenous languages. If you don't know about a topic there's no need to fill the thread up with your nonsense.

My experiences and observations around here where there are more than a few Hispanics is that they come in all shapes, sizes, colors and facial features. About the only thing that defines them as Hispanic is the native language they speak.

There are some in the US that speak indigenous languages as well but that does not make everyone here indigenous. What I am pointing out is the false narrative you are trying to say is true. I know it is not true. When you think of Mexicans you think of people with last names like Gonzalez, Sanchez or Cortez....that is because they are of Spanish descent. Perhaps that is not simple enough to understand but that is the way it is.

Some people think Spanish is the language of the indigenous....lolz!

Apparently they will not be satisfied until they see Indians in the ad....might as well be white people in it. There are more white people in Mexico than indians.

It wasn't the color. It was the fact that there was no holiday symbol. It was silly and nick picking. If people want a symbol on their coffee cup, then buy from someone else.

Is the ad misleading? Are there no communities in Mexico similar to the one depicted in the commercial? Why be so quick to assume Coke is talking about all of Mexico? Is one group of people no longer allowed to do something nice for another if they are different races?

Most liberals and Hollywood always paints Tennessee as backwoods and red neck. Trust me those of in Tennesse don't give two (*)(*)(*)(*)s what people think. Well the liberals in the state would probably. This is just another reason for people to (*)(*)(*)(*)(*).

My good senses are offended every time I hear Obama speak. According to liberal logic that should be enough to shut him up forever.

Nothing racist there. Only a pure racist would see any racism in that ad.

And here I thought it was Tennessee Ridge runners, Kentucky Hillbillies and Georgia Rednecks. After all Jeff Foxworthy is just up the road apiece from me.
