This shows how the mentality of the Left is bankrupting businesses.

A jury has awarded a 72-year-old woman nearly 9 millions dollars because she was hit by a car in a Starbuck's drive-through. The suit is against the Starbucks company and alleged the design of the drive-through was at fault. The woman was walking into the store and crossing the drive through path when she was struck.

The incident happened in 2019, in Nassau County Florida, just north of Jacksonville.

So they just want to make the big corporations pay, because they have deep pockets.

If this had been a single small coffee shop, there is no way that business could pay 9 million dollars. Even half a million would probably totally bankrupt them. Accidents will happen. But then all the blame is laid on the business.

This just demonstrates how much is wrong with the lawsuit system in the US.

Of course this is just going to get pushed onto the consumer in the form of higher prices.
